Twenty-nine slices of pumpkin

I was surprised to find a loaf of pumpkin swirl bread with my name on it; two loaves in fact. Thank goodness I have freezer room for one. I only have bread in the morning as toast. Two pieces of toast with peanut butter. To some that's disgusting but everyone has their own taste in food.
The past week I've seen so many dishes and drinks to make for Halloween from appetizers to desserts; from drinks with and without alcohol. Like every other holiday, there are ideas for different dishes to create.
It seems the bread I received is a brainchild of the baking company for the fall. Right now we all are enjoying pumpkin spice coffee etc...but come after Thanksgiving it will be peppermint or egg nog flavored. With tomorrow being Halloween I guess my fixation with pumpkin flavor will be winding down as Thanksgiving will follow. Seems depending on time of year what flavor I enjoy. Generally I enjoy just a vanilla flavor coffee but then from September to Thanksgiving it's pumpkin; after Thanksgiving to New Years it's egg nog or peppermint.
Like certain foods I enjoy during particular holidays, coffee flavors have their time of year too.
It's nice to have a variety; spices up (no pun intended) my life. It's a good thing to change up every now and then. I wonder if that's why certain foods and flavors are only popular during specific times of the year. I never really gave it much thought until I saw the loaves of bread this morning.
Putting away one loaf in the freezer is being done so after the fall ends, I can take out the pumpkin bread; toast it and think about the things I enjoy about fall. It will bring back I'm sure pleasant memories.
As I enjoy my pumpkin swirl toast and my coffee this morning, I wonder what tomorrow will bring as far as surprise.
