Today is the last day of 2017; tomorrow a new year begins.
A new year brings with it a fresh beginning for many. A blank page to write your story; a fresh canvas to paint your picture. How you fill that page or paint that canvas is up to you. It's your chance for a clean slate in your life.
In the past few days I have talked about resolutions for the new year or as I like to say goals, good intentions or objectives for the coming year. Whatever you call them is your choice. They all have the same outcome; either accomplished by year end or fall short.
I think of the last day of the year like the last quarter of a football game. The game ends. Win or lose, if it was a lost, you can not replay that game; and you can not re-do the year. You just look ahead to the next year as you would a game.
Do you have plans to celebrate the end if 2017 and start of 2018? How will you ring out the old and ring in the new? Or do you just treat us like any other day?
My husband and I plan to attend what I call an 'early bird' New Year party; or as my husband calls it the 'old fogie' party. It is geared for those like me. An afternoon event ending at 6:00 p.m. I don't enjoy being out as in years gone by. One never knows who is out celebrating and driving. Best to stay at home and off the roads; have a nice meal and watch television 📺 or read a good book 📚.
Whatever you do, I wish you all a very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year.
Tomorrow my good intentions for the year will begin. I have my new journal sitting on my desk, a pen nearby and I am raring to go.
