Day 8....Give your mail carrier a treat
FOR YOU
Day 8....Begin reading 'A Christmas Carol' by Charles Dickens. It's not a long book so if you read a few pages each night or chapters you will finish by Christmas Eve. If this is a downer, read any Christmas themed book.
Today I thought I would make the act of cheer simple. Give your mail carrier a treat; it does not have to be a baked good but maybe leave them a little envelope with the words "to mail carrier" and include perhaps a gift card to someplace for beverage or bite to eat. You don't have to go broke getting the card; most places have cards beginning at $5 or $10. Your mail carrier works hard all year in all types of weather to get your mail to you in a timely manner. Ok, so mostly it's probably bills or junk mail for some but they are out there for you.
For yourself why not read the classic by Dickens "A Christmas Carol". It's a small book as I have read it prior. In fact I too will begin to read it again today. Some of you may not like a downer story this time of year, so pick any Christmas themed book to read. I am amazed about some of the books out there centered around December and the holidays.
As for Day Seven, I donated to a local toy drive. I enjoyed shopping for the toys and seeing what has changed since I was young. There are still the trucks and cars for boys; dolls and doll accessories for girls.
While out in a store I found a cute little stuffed Santa bear for myself.
Until tomorrow enjoy your day and hope your mail carrier likes their surprise.
