December 6th...Day 7...‘SPREADING HOLIDAY CHEER’
Take the Salvation Army bell ringer a beverage (hot or cold depending on the weather where you live)
Day 7 FOOD BOX
Box of Crackers
This time of year you hear the ringing of the bell and see the red kettle. Some bell ringers wears a Santa hat or festive holiday hat, some do not. They stand outside in the cold up in the North; and sunny days in the South. Individuals giving up time to collect donations that will eventually help someone in need. Standing out in the cold for even a few hours can take its toll on anyone. A nice hot beverage would hit the spot to warm them up. I live in Florida and December can have it’s humid weather days. A cold bottle of water would be a nice gesture for the bell ringer in that part of the country. Whatever type of weather it is where you live, a beverage to the bell ringer would be most appreciated by them.
Yesterday I decided to give my donation to a local veterans organization that had donated to a benevolent organization. The benevolent organization will be hosting a Christmas lunch for nursing home veterans. My donation will help offset the cost of cards and little gift each person will receive.
Until tomorrow, have a wonderful day.
