December 9th....Day 10 of ‘SPREADING HOLIDAY CHEER’
Leave a Christmas or Holiday card where someone will find it. Sign it from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Day 10 FOOD BOX
Two cans of tuna
This is a fun and interesting way to spread the cheer today. Put a Christmas or holiday card someplace where it will be found. On the envelope put ‘To Whoever Finds This; Open. It Is For You’; then sign the card from SANTA and MRS. CLAUS. You can write a personal message inside such as HAVE a GREAT DAY; JUST a CARD to MAKE YOU SMILE or some type of message to let someone know they are thought about. What I did last year was put a little ornament inside. I left mine at an empty bar seat at the veterans club where I happen to be that day. I saw an empty spot, carefully (when no one was watching) places the envelope. I watched as someone sat down at that spot and asked the bartender about the card. The bartender had no clue about who left it. The individual then opened the card. I saw the smile on their face as the read the inside message. What I had written was “Merry Christmas. Just a card as act of spreading cheer to make your day.”
This year my message is the same; inside I placed a snowman tree ornament. I only hope the recipient will enjoy. As of yet, as it’s still before nine in the morning, not sure where I’ll leave the card. As I do frequent veterans clubs I just might again leave it there. Wherever I decide, I only hope it will give a smile to the recipient.
I dropped off silk poinsettias to a local nursing facility yesterday. I explained to the person at the front area why I happen to be there. They took them and thanked me. I just hope they are put in the room of a person who needs some holiday cheer.
As for the FOOD BOX item, the reason two cans of tuna is because I felt just one would not suffice. The tuna can be used in a casserole or for sandwiches.
Until tomorrow I hope you have a wonderful day. It’s day nine of Christmas month; sixteen days till Christmas.
