RID YOURSELF of NEGATIVITY

You should never let anyone make you feel worthless or guilt for doing what you feel is right in your heart.  Yesterday I blogged about not doing something due to a combative individual possible being where I was headed (my horoscope told me to avoid combative people yesterday).  I thought how in the past few months this person made me feel worthless as if things within an organization which we both belong in our community was my fault.  I had stressful days and waking up with the weight of the organization on my shoulders.  But it’s not just up to me for the organization to run smoothly it’s everyone involved.  Because I turned in my notice that I’d be leaving due to personal problems once my term in office was over, all I received instead of concern for what my husband is going through health wise, I got flack about turning my back on the organization.  I’m not turning my back on the organization but my involvement for awhile.  One must look out for their self and family because no one else will.
For the past three months I let myself feel useless and guilt ridden; but yesterday I took on a new attitude NO ONE has the right to make me feel that way.  I am a person who feel you treat others the way you want to be treated.  The person/persons who are giving me heartache over the issue of putting family first need to BACK OFF.  No doubt if they were in my situation things would sure be different; they’d want compassion and understanding.   Today I feel worthy and useful.  I am ridding their negativity from my life.  It’s like this, you speak to me it better not be full of your nasty attitude towards me; if so I’ll walk away.
In your own life don’t let people make you feel bad inside for doing what’s right in your own conscience.  Remove negative people from your life.  I have begun my purge and I feel oh so great.
Negative people are only that way I feel because being so makes them feel important; and because they are not happy with theirselves.
Rid yourself from the negative people who bring you down. Surround yourself with those who appreciate you for who and what you are.

GUT FEELING or FATE?

Was it just fate; I’m not sure or my gut feeling?
This morning I read my horoscope which is something I usually don’t do on a regular basis.  A daily horoscope was sent to my email in box.  It was funny as it mentioned to be beware of combative people.  Wow! It seemed to be hitting the nail on the head.  Recently I’ve been a person non-gratis to an individual who is member of an organization which I am member.  This person had made me feel as if I’m to blame for the future within the local chapter; as if I need to give my life to the organization and it’s works.  Over the course of five years I have given my all.  I’ve been a work horse with no THANKS whatsoever.  I’ve given up a lot to the organization to ensure the success of the local chapter.  Now with issues with my husband’s blood pressure and his bad back, I need to step back from all activities for awhile.  My own stress level from the organization is taking a toll on my well being. I need to put my spouse first.  I can not give the one-hundred percent needed to continue with the organization. It seems there are certain people or I should say person who is quite adamant that I need  not step back. My stepping back to care for my husband’s issues will take a toll on the organization this person says.  This individual is throwing a guilt trip on me.  Well I am not letting anyone bully me into staying the course with the organization as my HUSBAND comes first and foremost.  I will still provide good deeds within the organization but on a much smaller scale; when I can do so.   When belonging to a group or organization is no longer fun; when stress gets to you because of issues within the organization and politics within causes friction then it’s time to hang up your hat.  I have taken on a commitment for this year and will finish my duties in a few months.  I don’t quit mid-stream but will honor the responsibilities I accepted.
Today I had plans to take care of some business for the organization but unfortunately will be unable or should I say I won’t be.  This business can be done tomorrow.  Why not today? Because I’ll be running into the individual who is causing my stress.  This person is the combative individual I must avoid today.  Oh not only is this my horoscope but also my husbands.
As I mentioned I rarely read the daily horoscope email but perhaps fate wanted to do so today.
Was it fate or my gut feeling to read the email?  Who can say but I’m thinking it could just be my curiosity on what the fates had in store today.

BIRTHDAY PONDERING

A few years ago I wrote a poem about birthdays. What I wrote was a person’s birthday is their own New Year’s Day.  This meaning that for that particular individual another year for them begins.  Like New Years they have a chance to begin anew with goals and good intentions. Today is my personal New Years.  I think back to the good intentions I made on January first for this year, I have tried to keep them.  I have let one or two slip on occasion but I’ve begun again. As I think about today and the beginning of turning a year older, I try to reflect on the past twelve months.  What did I do during my year; did I change in any way; did I make it a good year in my life.  These are things we need to ask ourselves on our birthday.
I do not look for presents, cards or material items.  What I hope is that I enjoy the day doing whatever I want.  I don’t need a cake with candles; a fancy meal at some restaurant but the opportunity to do what I please.  It’s my twenty-four hours and I’m the ๐Ÿ‘ธ queen for the day.
This morning I put on my tiara, poured myself coffee and thanked God for another day.  When asked by my husband if I had any plans for the day, I said nothing earth shattering.  I just want to live in the moment without a schedule of things to do.  So far it’s going well.  Like my husband did for his birthday, I am taking it one hour at a time.  Will I regret not having a celebratory lunch? Will I regret not wanting a gift from my husband? Will I regret not having a cake? NO!  What I’d regret would be giving into the pressure that one must celebrate with hoopla on their birthday.  I’ve only had one birthday party in my life. It was when I was in the first grade. After that I never had one.  I felt for years I missed out on a celebration because of others around me having parties.  Finally at the age of ten I decided it was not worth being upset over not having a birthday party or celebration.  It was just another day.  It wasn’t until I penned the poem about birthdays bring a persons personal new year’s that I begun to think about if I missed out on celebrations.  I realize yes I did for a few years.  As a child I had been invited to birthday parties but never went.  It dawned on me why the hoopla because you’re another year older.  I am content in the fact I able to have a chance to do whatever I please (within reason) for twenty-four hours.  A few years ago I wrote another birthday verse.  It sums up my feelings on birthdays. So here I sit today wearing my tiara and just enjoying doing whatever comes next.

FAREWELL to VALENTINES DAY

Valentine’s Day is in the past.  Today the stores will put candy and other items for Valentine’s Day on sale.  Already the stores are gearing up with decorating items and things to wear for St. Patrick’s Day.  There is no candy involved for this holiday but sure bakery items will be sold depicting the holiday.  This would be cookies in shape of shamrocks generally sugar cookies with green sugar; or cookies with green icing. Perhaps liquor stores will have special sales on Irish Whiskey or Irish Cream.  Let’s not forget those who brew beer with Irish name labels.  Of course we need to get through Fat Tuesday aka Mardi Gras first.  Mardi Gras which is March 5th before we can begin our celebration for St. Patrick’s Day.  Stores already have items to celebrate Mardi Gras as well as I’ve seen items being sold for March 17th.   Easter candy has been available in a few places.  I’ve already been asked to bring jelly beans and robins eggs to the veteran’s club I frequent.
The Fourteen Days of Valentines I celebrated were fun.  I enjoyed each days little surprise.
Yesterday my husband made a pasta lunch for me.  It was better than going out to a restaurant cause he made the meal from the heart.  What I enjoyed I did not have to dress up; wait forever to be served and leftovers would not be put into a styrofoam carton to bring home causing more trash for me.  Also I could enjoy the meal while watching a romantic movie on television or just listening to soft music.  No background noise from others in a restaurant and NO server asking every time I had a mouthful of food how everything was.  Yes he did a great job for sure. We each had a glass of our favorite wine and Valentine’s Day cupcakes for dessert. Later we had errands to run so I took him for a few afternoon cocktails at one of our veteran’s clubs. Yes both of us got away cheap BUT it’s the thought that counted and not the expense.
If your are thinking ahead to next Valentine’s Day and the Fourteen Days of Valentine’s well you should hit the stores now for the sale items.  That is what my husband did for some items he gave me this year; and I gave him. Both of us have one storage box for things pertaining to holidays where we keep holiday clothing we wear for different holidays.  It’s never to early to think ahead.
Well right now my mind is gearing up for my birthday tomorrow.  I am Queen for the day and I’ll proudly wear my tiara.  So I’ll look ridiculous when I go out; who cares. After that it’s Mardi Gras time and the beginning of my Lenten fast.  What will I do this year? Give up something I like or be more charitable and do good deeds?  I am considering an act of kindness for each of the days.  Stay tuned to see what I do.

FOURTEEN DAYS of VALENTINES.... Day 14

DAY FOURTEEN....Card, one silk or real red rose, box of chocolates, bottle of champagne or wine and breakfast or lunch out in lieu of dinner.

It’s Valentine’s Day.  I hope you have enjoyed your days and gifts leading up to today.  Today’s gift ideas you may think are a cliche.  So you give a valentine card; it could be one you decided to make or one you found at a dollar store. It need not cost over a dollar.
In the stores you’ll find small four piece boxes of chocolates.  Who says you need buy a pound box.
A red rose, silk or real, it’s up to you.
You can substitute a nice bottle of wine instead of champagne.  I’d rather a nice white wine myself.
Why not go out for breakfast or lunch instead of a dinner.  It’s something different and perhaps restaurants won’t be as crowded during those times.
Whatever you decide on today’s gifts is up to you.
What I found this morning made me chuckle.  A handmade card done freehand not on the computer.  There was a heart; the words “HAPPY THURSDAY and DAY of HEARTS, CUPIDS, and ALL THAT STUFF”.
There was a small box of chocolate covered cherries; a silk rose, bottle of wine and note that lunch will be at noon.  Not sure were we are going but who cares.  It’s the thought. But if I know my husband lunch may be at our one veteran’s clubs that have a Thursday lunch special.
I gave my husband a card; small box of candy; no flower; bottle of wine (plum wine) which he enjoys and a rain check for the lunch. The rain check was just in case he would be taking me today.
So today I am wearing a shirt with a heart design; my valentines socks; the scarf and my new necklace.  As I always wear a hat, a few years ago my husband gave me a white ball cap with red gem stones on it.  A group made these hats and sold them as a fundraiser.  I thought it appropriate to wear today.  As for breakfast today I’m using my valentines coffee mug.  Later I’ll be acting like a kid again as I pass out valentines with a heart shape lollipop to people.
      HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY to you.
Even if you have no one special in your life at the moment to share it with tell someone today to have a happy one.  You just might make them feel as if they are special if just for awhile.
Now that Valentine’s Day has ended the valentine items will go in sale. Why not stock up for next year’s FOURTEEN DAYS of Valentine’s.

          CELEBRATION of LOVE
(From the book “LOVE ALWAYS and FOREVER”)

February 14th....St. Valentine’s holiday
The day of the year we express our
     gratitude of love l
To that one person we hold dear in our
        heart

We show our love by bestowing upon them
    tokens....
       Flowery bouquets.....
           Boxes of chocolates....
               Jewelry gifts....
                   Bottles of champagne.....
A special night on the town....
And cards with hearts,
      Cupid’s
         And messages of love

On that occasion we should take a moment
     to ponder....
How the world around us may have
      changed with the times
But....
     Our love....for that special someone
Is always a constant....
    Growing stronger each new day

Some days that person can do no wrong
   In our eyes
They are flawless and perfect
    At times we wonder....
About their imperfections and faults
Still....our love for them remains
       unconditional

We should appreciate and say “I love you”
To that special person who makes our life
     complete
Not only on the holiday of hearts, Cupid’s
      and flowers
But....each and everyday of the year

FOURTEEN DAYS of VALENTINES.... Day 13

DAY THIRTEEN....Bag or box of conversation candy hearts.

There is just something about those candy hearts that I’ve always enjoyed. As a kid I loved seeing what message would be on the heart.  It was fun to see how many of a certain saying would come in the box I’d always receive.  These days I get them in a bag.  Like the candy corn I must have during the season of Halloween, the conversation hearts is a must for me during February.   Unfortunately there is no reminiscing of Valentine’s Day past.  Although during the last few years I have begun to recall Valentine’s Day’s in my youth. I just have the allotted serving that is recommended on the bag.  As I begin to savor each heart I think about having a box of valentines and writing them to each classmate.  I remember the box that came with different valentines plus one for the teacher.  I would sign my name on the little card; put it inside the envelope and put the classmate’s name on it. I always gave the best ones to classmates I liked most. As I look at what’s available now it surprises me.  I have not seen many with envelopes. What I do is take a small envelope for when I give them out now.
The candy hearts were well received. I found my bag next to my coffee cup this morning.  My husband received a small bag of sour candy hearts.
Later today I’ll open my bag; count out the serving size and enjoy.
A few years I wrote a whimsical piece about conversation hearts.  It was my dedication to those little sugar delights.  It was just something that came to mind as I sat staring at the blank word document opened on the computer and the box of hearts sitting to the side. Over the years I changed one word in my original piece but the message remains the same. All the hearts want is for someone to enjoy eating them.
Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day.  So far I’ve received at least thirteen fun gifts; plus on a few days an extra item.
Enjoy today and those candy hearts that seem to bring out the kid in me. If your interested the I checked the calorie count on the back of the bag I have; 12 hearts is 60 calories.

DAY FOURTEEN GIFT IDEA....Card, box of chocolates, one red rose (real or silk), bottle of champagne or wine and lunch or breakfast out in lieu of going out to dinner.

FOURTEEN DAYS of VALENTINES.....Day 12

DAY TWELVE.....A handmade card with verse written from the heart

Today’s gift idea should cost nothing except your time and creativity.  Create a handmade card with an original verse penned by you.
When I told my husband I had changed Day Twelve’s gift idea a few days ago he seemed a tad surprised.  He had no idea the list had been altered as he looks at it a day prior.  What I first put on the list, when I created it back in January, was to give six small Mylar balloons.  I changed my mind on the first day of February. Why you wonder?  It would be fun to be creative instead of going out to make a purchase.  Everyone has paper and pen at home.  Most everyone has a computer and printer.   You can design something elaborate or just simple.  I went with simple.
Just a plain piece of paper; heart downloaded on the front; verse inside; small hearts on inside of front; then on back X’s and O’s.
I just wanted to go simple with the card as I also gave two Mylar balloons in a bud vase.
My poem I wrote for today is called “Costless”.  I wanted something simple and short that would fit into a small card.
You need not write an epic but words from the heart pure and simple.
As I sit here typing up today’s ‘rambling’ I’ve not yet gotten my daily gift.  I personally think my husband has not yet written his poem or he’s forgoing today’s gift to me.  It’s still early in the day so we shall see.
Until tomorrow which is Valentine’s Day Eve enjoy the day. There’s a bonus today; you get to read the piece I wrote for today and one from the book.

Day 13 Gift Idea.....Bag of conversation hearts or small boxes.

            WISH UPON a STAR
(From the book “LOVE ALWAYS and FOREVER”)

A pinkish tinted full moon shines down giving us light as we walk towards the lake
      Reflecting moonlight on the water
Casting eerie shadows upon the ground
A warm April night strolling to the end of the dock
Taking a seat on the bench
  Staring out across the water
We do not speak....both of us lost in thoughts
I wonder what you are thinking.....do you care what is on my mind
    Silence it's deafening
Looking up into the evening sky
stars sparkle like a million diamonds
   I find a star.....make a wish
      You reach for my hand
           Then whispering you say
       "I love you"
           A wish came true

FOURTEEN DAYS of VALENTINES ....Day 11

DAY ELEVEN....A dozen heart shape cookies.

I’m a fan of sugar cookies.  During certain holidays one store where I shop has them in shapes for whatever holiday is approaching.
Today I received the cookies.  They have red sugar sprinkles and some had X’s and  O’s on them.  I found them next to my coffee cup which only meant I was to have one or two right away.  A dozen cookies last awhile unless I put them into a small storage bag and share with another person.  A bartender at one of the veteran’s clubs I frequent loves cookies. I generally take her three when I get a dozen of the bakery ones. Sure she’ll enjoy these.
As for candy, yes I share with her also BUT usually with another bartender at same place.  This person is not only a chocolate lover but candy in general.  As I’ve stated before I like to share if possible.
I know if you’re unable to find heart shape cookies you can decide on another treat. There are cupcakes decorated for the holiday.  I know one donut chain that has heart shape donuts you can get as an alternative to cookies.  Perhaps you don’t need the whole dozen of donuts.  Decide on the number; or get a dozen to share.
I’d be taking a few cookies to the bartender but my husband showed me the second container he had purchased.  He got a BOGO he said (buy one get one). So I guess we’ll be making the bartender’s day today.
My husband is not a sugar cookie, fancy filled donut or cupcake with fancy frosting person. So I did an alternate gift.  A package of cookies he likes which I put inside a gift bag.  I made a small funny card with heats and Cupid’s; the wording said “Happy Day Eleven of Valentine’s Day as you are the fig filling in my life”.  (I’m sure you figured out the cookies were Fig Newtons.) You need to have fun with the gifts.
Have a great Monday.

DAY TWELVE GIFT.....A handmade card with a verse written from the heart

You are:

       I breath;
Water....
       to quench my thirst;
Sustenance....
       to satisfy my hungering
           soul;
A perfect night's sleep....
       after a tiring day;
The never changing
    personality....
          I grew to adore;
The solid rock....
        that never falters;
All things bright....
         in a world of gray;
And a listening ear.....
        to my schemes and dreams

You....are you, my love

FOURTEEN DAYS of VALENTINES....Day 10

DAY TEN....A small stuff animal.

Day seven’s gift idea was a piece of jewelry.  If you recall my husband gave me a whimsical piece of jewelry as well as another custom made piece.  If you read the day seven piece you’ll recall the whimsical piece was a bracelet with a unicorn charm.  He said something about about me finding the item amusing.  Well today’s gift the miniature stuff animal was a unicorn.  He said he picked up the small animal then he noticed the bracelet.  It was funny to say the least. The unicorn, since it was so miniature, prompted him to give me something else.  An out of box gift.  This gift a pair of red socks with hearts. The sock material is more fleecy than regular cotton socks.  No problem I’ll wear them.  He said he liked how they looked and decided to purchase them. He also said the daily gift list is just idea and can be changed up.  He’s so right.
Now the funny part of this is the socks.  He told me he purchased them few weeks ago. As you recall the other day he also gave me a pair of socks in the snack basket.  His thought was that since we’ve had chilly days in Florida and I’ve been wearing socks why wear boring white Ive when I can wear funky ones.   Guess that’s as good as an explanation as any.
Today I gave him a small brown teddy bear; the bear has a scent to it, chocolate.   He said well at least he won’t be gaining any weight from the scent.  Eventually I’m sure the scent will disappear but it was an interesting item to buy.  Picking out today’s item was fun. I had been to many stores over the past few weeks and looked at what was available.  I went with the teddy bear as my husband likes karaoke. One song he does is the Elvis song “Teddy Bear” and after doing the song on occasion he has gone on to give a teddy bear to someone in the audience.   This bear will no doubt go into his collection.
When thinking about picking out the item to give today; think about the recipient and their likes and dislikes.  You don’t want to give a dog lover a stuffed cat or vice versa.
As my husband sat sniffing the scented bear, he said he got a craving for a piece of chocolate.  Since it was early morning he made hit chocolate.  I wonder if the manufacturer of the bear knew what they were doing?  As you see when I purchased this bear I too had a craving for chocolate and ended up buying a candy bar at the checkout.
You can get a stuff animal today or be like my husband and think out of the box to change the gift. It does not matter as I always say ‘it’s the thought that counts’.
This morning I was finally able to use the glasses and sparkling juice from yesterday. It was a romantic morning breakfast as while breakfast we watched a romantic movie.
Until tomorrow.....enjoy your Sunday.

DAY ELEVEN GIFT IDEA....A dozen heart shape cookies.

FOURTEEN DAYS of VALENTINES....Day 9

DAY NINE.....Two champagne flutes and a bottle of sparkling grape juice

Today’s gift idea is a great way to begin the day.  A refreshing glass of sparkling grape juice.  This morning this is what I found for me.  There were two plastic wine glasses instead of flutes; the juice was in the refrigerator. Unfortunately I had to scurry off to work at a fundraiser breakfast so I could not enjoy enjoy my grape juice (which comes in a champagne looking bottle).  I decided to enjoy tomorrow morning. The wine glasses (no doubt from a dollar store) are red in color with hearts and a saying on them.  I’ll enjoy using them even after the holiday.  As for the sparkling grape juice it’s a nice change from orange juice or grapefruit juice on occasion.   For those who rather a more sophisticated beverage/adult beverage the flutes or wine glasses with a mimosa will do the trick.  You can find the glasses as I mentioned at a dollar type store or a thrift store.  I go to the thrift stores mostly run by a church or organization that supports a cause such as senior citizens, disabled individuals or veterans.  I have found nice glasses in these places for a good price; and it helps a worthy cause.
I’ve gone with having sparkling juice since the gift was received in the morning; making the day begin on an up note.  Of course you can give this gift any time of the day but my husband choose morning.
Whenever you give the gift, make it special.
Until tomorrow.....cheers.  Enjoy the day.

DAY TEN GIFT IDEA.....A small stuff animal.

                  NOT a GAME
(From the book “LOVE ALWAYS and
           FOREVER”)

Love is not a game
If I could only explain the love I feel
I want to tell you just how much I love you
But the words don’t come easy

It’s not just a game to play
Please love me as I have always loved you
Tonight give me joy if only for a few short
        hours
Be mine tonight
     Just be mine tonight

FOURTEEN DAYS of VALENTINES....Day 8

DAY EIGHT....Hershey Kisses in a candy jar

A few years ago I was in a mission to find apothecary looking jars for my daughter.  She planned to use them as part of a children’s birthday.  Both my husband and I searched thrift stores looking for the jars.  We found in a three month period at least a dozen.  When we took a trip back up north we had the jars packed carefully to give her.   After we returned home I found two I forgot I had.  I ended up using them at Christmas time as I filled them with holiday wrapped Hershey kisses; I gave this as a gift.
A jar of Hershey kisses is today’s gift idea.  You can find jars (small, medium or large) at most any dollar type store.  You can look, if you have time, at a thrift store for one.
Of course you don’t have to use the kisses. You can fill with other candy if you desire to do so.  I only suggest kisses because of it being Valentine’s Day.  This morning I found a small jar filled with the kisses.  I ended up giving my husband a medium size jar with bite size Snickers.  What’s good about the jars is that they can be repurposed to hold something else later after the candy is gone.  Of course they can be put away until the next candy holiday rolls around (Easter).
This gift idea is perfect for the chocolate lover whether it be that special person in your life, family member, friend or someone who needs a cheering up.
Fourteen days of CELEBRATING VALENTINE’S DAY or SHOWING YOU CARE is a wonderful to do during these bleak days of winter.
Until tomorrow.....have a good day.

DAY NINE GIFT IDEA....Two champagne flutes and a bottle of sparkling grape juice.

PENGUIN HEART
(From the book “LOVE ALWAYS and FOREVER”)

Love was frozen......
In my penguin heart;
  an iceberg......
    unable to melt

I built a fortress
  Around myself
     NEVER....
to let anyone into my life
   NEVER....
           to love

I kept myself in check
Guarding against the pain
   Along life's track,
     carefully I walked
avoiding anyone......
        who......
 tried to walk with me

 From someplace......
    Somewhere......
  you appeared

So unaware of your presence
       until......
 I looked into your eyes

There I saw a caring soul
    a warm smile
       and a gentle voice

As you touched my hand
    I felt love......
  flowing from within your soul

My penguin heart........
     became.......
  a smoldering flame

FOURTEEN DAYS of VALENTINES.....Day 7

 DAY SEVEN.....Piece of jewelry

Jewelry is nice to receive.  I have stuff I have not actually worn for years.  I like to put on a necklace and bracelet to dress up a casual outfit.  As for earrings, having two piercings in both ears, I don’t wear them much anymore.  One reason being having longer hair it’s not worth it for me.
I have an acquaintance who makes one of a kind jewelry and I have few of her creations.  Funny as people will see my necklace or bracelet she made and want the same.  She has duplicated a few of the pieces that someone wants.  I always say I have the original and everyone else has the knockoff.
My husband saw the FOURTEEN DAYS of VALENTINE’S GIFT IDEAS.   He decided to be funny with today’s gift.  He gave me a little bracelet with a unicorn charm.  It reminded me of something a little girl would like.  The item a unicorn charm on a leather type band for the wrist.  He said well there’s a reason for this which you’ll find amusing in a few days.  Okay I’m thinking.  After I get tired of the new bracelet I can always have the charm put on my sterling silver charm bracelet.  My charm bracelet is a throwback to years gone by when they were a popular item to wear.
As for me giving a piece of jewelry to my husband today, yes I did give him something.  I had a masculine necklace created for him.  It was done from a pin from a veteran’s organization which we belong; my acquaintance was able to take the pin to create the piece for my husband. He really like it.  It’s something he can wear anything of the year.
Picking up a piece of jewelry is not all that easy.  I’d rather receive a piece I can wear with any outfit I may throw together.  In my opinion a piece of jewelry can dress up any outfit.  I like short chain pieces rather than longer ones. I enjoy something I don’t see anyone wearing (reason I go to my acquaintance).   I’ve found her pieces (yes they are more costume but high quality costume) more reasonable than pieces I’ve seen in the same category as department stores.  Actually I’ve given her creations as gifts to people.  By doing this I have actually ended up taking orders for duplicates of what I’ve given away.  Do I get anything from this? No!   It’s good advertising.
I guess I got off the gift track there.
Well you need not spend a fortune on a piece of jewelry.  Think about something that the person can wear with jeans or a casual look.  After all it’s the thought of the gift that counts as I’ve said time and again.  After the unicorn item he gave me the real gift for the day.  A one of kind item made by our friend/acquaintance. It’s a really nice piece I can wear ALL year and not just during Valentine’s Day month. I wear a quite a bit of red, so this will be appropriate.
I received Day 6 gift later in the day after I had posted for the day.  What my husband did was take a pink plastic heart shape basket I had stored away to use for the snacks.  He ended up filling it with a few boxes of the candy heart; a pair of socks with hearts on it and a bag of peanut butter filled pretzels.  It came as a surprise at the end of the day.  Of course socks aren’t something to eat, but he found them on sale and thought I’d enjoy having another pair to wear.  Actually I was pleased to get the socks as I’ll be wearing them over the weekend.

Until tomorrow....have a great day.

DAY EIGHT GIFT IDEA....Hershey kisses in a candy jar.

Today I’m giving a quote from a poem published in the book “LOVE ALWAYS and FOREVER”

   "SMALL WORD"

'LOVE.......
An emotion that one does not
          sell or buy
    But given freely to another
    Around since the beginning of
        time
     A mystery that perhaps will
         remain unsolved'

FOURTEEN DAYS of VALENTINES....Day 6

DAY SIX......Gift bag of treats

A gift bag (large, medium or small) filled with treats is a great gift to receive as well as give.  The dollar stores have them in all sizes.  You need to decide first what treats you want to put inside before purchase a gift bag.
I was the one to give the gift today.  I had decided on a medium size bag. Inside I put a few snack size bags of his favorite snacks such as gold fish crackers, potato sticks, pretzels as well as few packs of peanut butter crackers, package of cookies and small size candy bars.  The card that accompanied the gift was one I created on the computer.  On the outside of the bag I put a label which had the words; RETURN for RE-FILL WHEN EMPTY.
I plan to re-fill if he so desires. It’s nice to be spoiled and have something just for your self.  I myself enjoy a different variety of snacks so what I gave my husband was just for himself not for him to share with me.
Think carefully on what the person enjoys; the treats can be food or drink. You can also think out of the box and decide that eat treats are not the way to go.  Why not make the bag of treats items they use.  A bag of bath items is one idea.  Whatever you decide no doubt the recipient will enjoy. After all as the old saying goes ‘it’s the thought that counts’.
Until tomorrow....think about tomorrow’s gift idea.

DAY SEVEN GIFT IDEA....Piece of jewelry

                   VALUE of LOVE
(From the book ‘LOVE ALWAYS and
              FOREVER’)

VALUE of love is a treasure that can not be
          bought
AND....can not be sold....no matter what
           some may think
LIKE paid wages....love must be earned by
           hard work
EVEN though we do try buying love with
            expensive purchases
NOW and again....gifts are a nice gesture
             and greatly welcomed
THOUGH often forgotten days, weeks,
             months and years later
IT is easier it seems to buy with
             money....then give with time
NOT everyone realizes little actions or
              deeds do really matter
EARN love from that special person by
             doing....not buying
SPEND time listening to them....give them a
             hug....share a joke

DON'T forget to say 'I love you'
             each and every day
APPRECIATE also all they do for you....no
               matter how trivial
YOU will find that the value of love is a
                priceless treasure
