A card is wonderful to receive. The pretty picture on the front; the lovely heartfelt words inside and the signature from the giver/sender even a few words penned by them. What can be more special than being the recipient of a card especially picked out just for you?
How about a book of love poems? The book of poems that I’ve been using at the end of each days ‘rambling’ is one such book to give. There are many love poetry books available; you just need to look. In this age of e-readers you can download such a book for someone. This morning I’ve found two that my husband downloaded to my Kindle. (Of course he knew my information to do so.) These are definitely ones I’d never consider doing so for myself. Last year instead of a book of love poems he downloaded two romantic novels instead. You can always search a used book store if you so desire; you never what treasure you’ll find.
As I think about the books my husband downloaded for me today, I realized what a romantic gesture. Not only do I have the books on my Kindle device, but also on my IPHONE Kindle app. I can pull up the book at any time and read a poem or two from wherever I am.
As I mentioned last year my husband changed up from poetry to romance novels. As I am more of a mystery/suspense reader I found these books he gave me a look into another genre; found the books to be light hearted and a wonderful break in my reading habit. Think about the recipient of the gift today and perhaps they may enjoy a book of poems as well as a love story.
