FOURTEEN DAYS of VALENTINE’S....Day Four

DAY FOUR....Six silk roses in a vase

I have always love flowers.  Unfortunately I found over the years red roses make my allergies act up.  Odd but it’s only red ones.  That’s fine with me; I like purple colored roses and dark pink best.
During February it seems the price of roses is outrageous.  They only last a week if you’re lucky.  Silk flowers, on the other hand last.  They just need a dusting or cleaning
every now and then.  Tie a red ribbon on the vase to make it extra special.  Dollar type stores sell vases in different sizes from bud vases to ones that hold a large bouquet.  I’ve found vases in thrift stores that I have used and given out with flowers both artificial and real; depended on if I found an inexpensive bouquet.  For years we had a vase of silk carnations in the one house where we lived.  To be truthful the vase and flowers were there at least five years before I met and married my husband. On occasion I’d have to take a feather duster to them, but otherwise they looked great.  A nice adornment to the room where they were displayed.  As much as I love flowers it saddens me when they die.  Seems the joy I had when I received them leaves along with the flowers; or so it appears to be for me.  Flowers, real or artificial, brighten up a room.  During the gray days of winter they seem to make things a bit more cheerful.
So today as you give the six red silk roses; you could be making a dull dreary day brighter to the recipient no matter who they be to you; a love one, family member, co-worker, neighbor or friend. This morning it is overcast.  The silk flowers which are a combination of roses and carnations are quite welcomed as they have already brightened up my day; since it’s both dreary outside and a Monday.
Until tomorrow....enjoy your Monday. Hope where you are the sun is out and not hiding behind the clouds.

DAY FIVE GIFT IDEA.....Book of love poems.

Today I am giving a few quoted lines from a poem titled ROSES TELL a STORY from the book “LOVE ALWAYS and FOREVER”.
The poem is about receiving roses in various shades.

 “Thirteen roses of various shades
    Each with a special meaning
    Given on Valentine’s Day
Tell a story of feelings from sender
      to receiver”

“Thirteen roses......
their perfume fragrance filters through the
       air an insight of feelings
      deep within my soul”

“The full bloom single red rose
           Says it simply......
                 “I LOVE YOU”
