Today’s THANKFUL word is FAMILY.
We sometimes take our family for granted. Never appreciate them for who they are.
Today’s acrostic challenge is from the two wacky holidays; CLICHE DAY and NATIONAL SANDWICH DAY.
There are times I’m sick of hearing cliches. They are overused time and again. Some really make you wonder what they mean. Such as every cloud has a silver lining. I want to know how someone knows that. Did the originator of this saying actual go into a cloud to find out. The other I hated as a kid, does the cat got your tongue. Now how could that be if the person doesn’t own a cat. I always pondered the thought who came up with these sayings. Guess that’s a good Google job for me later.
I composed the cliche piece focusing on how much they irritate me at times.
The sandwich acrostic centers around how I personally never try anything new as far as having a sandwich. It’s always tuna with cheese and tomato; ham and Swiss cheese or egg salad on rye. I know I could experiment with perhaps a different type cheese with my tuna or even the ham. Why don’t I try a turkey club or a Monte Cristo?
We all have our favorite sandwiches it seems. I think at the moment I’m in a rut. Perhaps next time I’m ordering a sub or sandwich I’ll try something new. Why not? If I don’t like it, I won’t order it again.
So far day three of acrostic challenge is done. Looking forward to my next day of doing the challenge. I’m enjoying reading the acrostic pieces by the others doing this challenge; it is indeed fun.
Until tomorrow....enjoy the day and as always Stay Safe.

THANKFUL REFLECTION DAY 3
Today I am thankful for family. You need not see them every day, but knowing they are there is a blessing. I feel family is not just blood relations, but blended family members; as well as friends we consider to be like family. These people are our honorary aunts, uncles, sisters, brothers, etc...today be thankful for Family.

Cliches overused becomes quite trite
Little do we realize this though when being
said
Irritating many can become after hearing
them over and over
“Cat got your tongue?” One I’ve heard as a
child
How could the cat have my tongue since we
didn’t have a cat
“Every cloud has a silver lining”, another that
irritates me
Do we need a day to celebrate them? NO!
And why cry over spilled milk, I don’t
Yet I do sob over spilled beer and wine,
boo-hoo

SANDWICH DAY

So many choices does one have when
choosing a sandwich
And we usually stick to our favorite time
and again
Never going out of our comfort zone to try
something new
Why are we afraid to do so, I do wonder
Interesting experience to try a new combo
of meats and cheese
Choosing also a new type bread and
toppings would be unique
However I am partial to the old tried and
true
Does that make me stuck in a culinary rut,
maybe so
All I know I should be diversified in my lunch
order
Yet again today I had the tuna on rye
toast with provolone
