THANKFUL MONTH....Day Twelve

Another rather short read today.

My thankful today is for religious freedom.  I don’t preach to others on how they should worship so enough said.
The wacky/weird holidays I found were not of any fun interest so I used two of the monthly ones in my daily countdown. I did quick acrostics on them.
As for being Chicken Soup for the Soul day, I composed the acrostic about chicken soup. To me, this has always been a very comforting meal; with crackers crumbled in the bowl or eating crusty bread with butter.  It’s chicken soup I turn to when I have the blahs. In fact I can eat soup any time of the year or for most any meal.
I used the word novel and memoir for the other acrostic.  I tried my hand at a novel. Someplace I must have the notes or rough draft.  I’d rather stick to vignettes, flash fiction and poetry.
As for my memoir, I’ve done few stories I have completed; but gave up as it was depressing me.
Until tomorrow....have a great day and as always Stay Safe.

      THANKFUL REFLECTIONS Day 12
Today I am thankful for RELIGIOUS FREEDOM.  We each should be able to worship in our own way.  I have my beliefs that of course with which I grew up. One thing I don’t believe is for others to push their beliefs on another.  We all need to worship and prayer in our own manner

Chicken soup is sometimes called Jewish
                Penicillin
How it got that name, something I don’t
           know
It is a wonderful comfort food any time of
            the year
Chunky chicken pieces, carrots, celery and
     either noodles, rice or pasta
Keeps the blahs intact on a cold wintery day
Either at lunch, dinner or pick-me up, even
     had it at breakfast
Needless to say, chicken soup seems to
     soothe my stress

Soup, especially chicken, cures all your
      ailments
Often I’ll crumble saltine crackers in my
    soup or have crusty bread
Understandably it’s chicken soup that
     nourishes the soul
Perhaps today will be a chicken soup day

My memoir would be quite boring
Except my youth, which might be interesting
Many strange events happened by age
        eighteen
Only no one would believe me, I’m sure
I had a difficult life from birth to young
        adult
Remembering those times quite
         depressing, I rather forget

Novel writing, I’ve tried, time and again
Of course one needs discipline to do so
Various times I’ve began a novel, gave up
Each writer has their knack it would seem
Let me compose free verse and flash fiction
