TWENTY-EIGHT DAYS of LOVE....Day 28

Short read!

It’s Sunday and the last day of the month.
Twenty-eight days sped by quickly.
The last three days and four nights have taken a toll since my husband’s problems started.  I seem to waking up at 3:00am for some reason.  I begin to work on the daily blog and by the time I’m half through I feel sleepy again.  I hope it works as I’m doing this at 3:00am.  I think once I’m feeling tired it’ll be time to stop.
I can’t believe my birthday month ends today.  Oh well.  It was a month of good with my little party, but terrible with my husband’s issues.  All I can do is pray.
The Valentine word yesterday was FONDNESS.  I wrote two short pieces that were to the point.
Terry’s word of the day DEVIOUS.  I decided to write about a guy being de-friended.  It felt good putting this down for some reason. Don’t know why. It was just something I enjoyed writing.
Even the wacky holiday piece was short and to the point.
Now I’m starting to feel sleepy.  So I guess I’ll just end this like I said.
Until tomorrow....enjoy your Sunday and your last day of the month of love; as always Stay Safe.

                 ONLY FONDNESS
He had a tender affection for her
In his heart she triggered a soft spot
A caring devotion he felt inside
Unfortunately his fondness
did not give way to love

                 OPEN EYES
She was quite fond of the guy
The smile upon his face whenever
he saw her spoke volumes....it was love
        on his end
She did not feel the flutter of butterflies
inside from him....only a deep affection
    of friendship
They all hoped she’d open her eyes to
what she could have....not pine for another

                        DE-FRIEND
Cunning to say the least....he could be
       devious
Not Mr. Nice and Sweet as he portrayed
The truth....he was a player
  Toying with hearts
       Trifling with emotions
    Love to him a game
It took awhile....but.....he got his

Finally seeing his true colors
she de-friended him from all aspects
  of her life

Taking the polar plunge in fifty degree

But I’ll do it....after all it’s for charity
The bottle of Kahlua will be opened

TWENTY-EIGHT DAYS of LOVE....Day 27

It’s been a few bad days for me.  I just hope things get better.  My husband is in the hospital and prayers are needed.  Sitting in his room while he went for tests and therapies I had time to at least keep my mind occupied by writing.  It’s keeping me sane.  Yesterday’s word was SOULMATE.   I did an acrostic about finding a soulmate.  In the second piece I focused on a guy who has a checklist for the woman of his dreams.  Unfortunately he’s also looking for a rose as he thinks they are the best.  The woman who actually checks the list is the orchid which he feels inferior.   Do I know guys like that? Yes, in my younger days my first husband and I knew a guy like that.  In a way he came to my mind when I composed this.
Terry’s word for yesterday was MEDIOCRE.   I decided to use it about how people never ask for help.  It all comes from being in organizations that send reports to higher ups on what a local chapter does.  It seems that people doing these reports never ask their members questions about things they do.  They seem to guess instead of inquiring.  I’m a sticker or was when it was my job to do the reporting.  Let’s just say members got sick of me asking them all the time.
I loved the wacky holidays.  They seem to just mesh into a whimsical piece for sure.
It’s Saturday at 3:00am and I’m trying to get back to sleep.
I think it’s stress of wondering about my husband and what’s to come.  Thinking typing would help make me become sleepy I sure hope it does.
Until next time....have a super Saturday; and as always be Stay Safe.

                       SOUL MATE
Someone may come into your life suddenly
Out of no where it can happen so don’t
           despair
Until they do you feel lost and possibly
           alone
Like a piece of you is missing, you don’t feel
         whole

More often someone else experiences the
          same
As they trudge through their own life
         routines
They like you have no idea what or who lies
         ahead
Each of us who found our soul mate
    did so when least expected

                    HIS CHECKLIST

He searched for a soul mate
   among the roses he knew
A beautiful flower to share his life
one who’d listen to his hopes
       rally his schemes
be a part of his dreams
Someone he could lean upon
when he felt down and blue
A special woman to laugh at his silly jokes
enjoy a cold brew and an occasional
         shot of Jack
An individual to share a bowl of popcorn
   while watching college football
Who believed in the same values as he
He wanted a woman who’d cheer him
     when needed
       but be truthful as well
He had a mental checklist
So far no one checked off all the boxes
Except one....he saw her as a pretty orchid
     not a beautiful rose

⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️
                ALWAYS ASK FOR HELP

When in doubt on doing a project
   ask for guidance
Unfortunately he did not do so
Instead he did a mediocre job of handling
     the situation
Doing what he felt right by his standards
Never asking for help or assistance
 he completed the half-year report
of what the local group completed
Thinking he could do it the task at hand
   and that he knew everything
The end result.... the report shoddy
he left out much of what was
          accomplished

TWENTY-EIGHT DAYS of LOVE....Day 26

The last of the conversational heart sayings was yesterday’s Valentine’s word.  The saying was YOU ROCK
I wrote an acrostic using this word. It focuses on a woman who is infatuated (still my triangle group) wanting to tell her hearts desire he rocks.
In the second piece I thought about the secret admirer leaving a gift in the guy’s truck bed.  Funny how he wants her to come forward but really he is enjoying the mystery of it all.
Terry’s word was EXEMPLARY yesterday.  After I saw the word the piece just wrote itself as it came from true life.  I belong to an honor society veteran’s organization; you are asked to become a member.  If you are unfamiliar with the Forty and Eight (40&8), I suggest a Google search will give you the information on this organization and the fine works it does.  Our officer terms are in French.  I took French in high school and was able to help my husband when he joined in 2004 with the terminology.  I joined in 2014 after being asked (women veterans weren’t part of the organization until around 2007).  I became the Correspondant (secretary) of the local chapter.  At first, even knowing some French words, I had a hard time, but by my third promenade (meeting) it was easy.  Of course I had a few good mentors.  After two years I was the head of the local chapter, Chef de Gare (or you can say commander);  I did this job three years.  Now I’ve taken a hiatus but kept as local director of two programs; so it’s not really a hiatus.  After lockdown in our area we finally met for the first time since March.  Our current Correspondant tried his best to pronounce the officer list but had a few issues with it.
I am willing to sit down with the guy to offer my help if needed; I mentioned it to him but my words fell short.  So when I wrote the piece using the word exemplary I mentioned when he got corrected he took it well.  Time will only tell what will happen; it’s not easy to be given corrections when I’m sure no one sat down to explain the proper pronunciation; in fact I know so.
Yes it true, not bragging, I did rock the job as my first year in the Forty and Eight, I received the award as Correspondant of the year in Florida; this was out of all other local Correspondants in Florida.  I do sometimes use real life experiences in my works or a tweak of a real life situation.
Yesterday it was an interesting day of wacky holidays centered around food.
Today is Friday and the last Friday in February.
Until tomorrow....remember to wear your red today and as always Stay Safe.

                        YOU ROCK

You smiled at me yesterday afternoon
Oh how the butterflies fluttered inside me
Unaware and clueless are you of how I feel

Right then and there I should have told you
Of course as always too many others near
Could it be you really don’t care at all
Knowing that I truly think YOU ROCK

        it all

      should be pronounced ‘tran
Not ‘train’ as in choo-choo train
Muddling through the promenade
he was told the job of Correspondant
would get easier as time went on
The past Chef de Gare volunteered to help
       him
After all she too had a problem when during
           his job
But as time went....on she ‘rocked’ it

TWENTY-EIGHT DAYS of LOVE....Day 25

I love the red printed words on the candy hearts as you can tell.  I think they are interesting to write about.  Yesterday’s candy heart saying was XXOO or when translated is kisses and hugs.  We use the X’s and O’s on cards and letters we send our love ones.  Once when writing to a boyfriend in the military I cut up little red squares and put an X on some and an O on the others. He said he got a laugh out of it but the guys teased him.  Many said he should share with the ones not getting any hugs and kisses.
I’ve used chocolate kisses as an expression of love at times.  These days of sending electronic greetings I think most are using emojis to express kisses ๐Ÿ˜˜ and hugs ๐Ÿค—.
I found it a fun word or let’s say symbol to write about.
The first piece is how clueless some people can be.  The woman (his secret admirer) gives him the candy and the card with the XX’s and OO’s at the bottom. She even wore a shirt with those markings but it did not register with the guy.  I sometimes think men are clueless on what a woman is wearing.  To prove a point I asked my husband what color shirt I had on yesterday.  He answered red; no it was pink.
The X’s and O’s of tic-tac-toe I compared to love.  One takes a chance where love is concerned.  Will the object of your affection feel the same? It’s luck and chance in my book you find that one person who’ll feel the same.
The third piece just says it in simple words how we uses those two letters capitalized to express feeling.  I smile when I do see it on something for me.
Terry’s fantastic word of the day FACETIOUS.  There are times I am quite the facetious individual.  I used the word in a piece between the two people in the piece CLUELESS.  It says it all I’m sure.
I enjoy doing pieces relating from other pieces; eventually I’ll have to put them all together in some order.
I enjoyed doing the wacky holiday writing. It’s quite true when I did go out on a Wednesday late afternoon I’d be inconvenienced to find decent parking spot due to all those wanting to be out doing karaoke.  Don’t even get me started on the karaoke topic.  It’s like a drug for many; they need to be out whether they can sing or not.  They want their three minutes of being the star. I was one who went constantly but after awhile it’s blasรฉ. Who knows I may go back someday.  When, now that’s a good question.
Where has this week gone?  The other day it seemed I cried about writer’s block and now it’s Friday Eve.
Until tomorrow....keep positive and as always Stay Safe.

TWENTY-EIGHT DAYS of LOVE....Day 24

HOT STUFF another message on conversational hearts.  I’m going to be using them for the next few days yet; remainder of month is words on candy hearts.

I know nicknames people get aren’t always what they seem to be.  An example would be calling someone Hot Stuff.  Now that does not necessarily mean the individual is a hot sexy individual.  It could mean they love hot and spicy food.  In the second piece I wrote HOT STUFF, it is about nicknames and how we should never assume about why someone is called by a certain name.  Most people think my real name is what it is, but I’ve been going by this name people know me by for years. In fact a while back I had to show my membership card at one of my veterans organizations.  The individual asked about the name listed; I explained the name is my birth name.  They remarked they never knew this.
The first piece today was whimsical in my mind.  The guy is a racy sexy guy but he loves hot foods.  The woman thinks she should get a hot pepper perfume to entice him.  I think men who love any type of hot food would like the scent of jalapeรฑo on a woman. Just something to think about.
Eyeing Her Prey is back to my triangle of the two guys and the woman; now to spice it up, I added another woman, the cougar.  I’ve seen many a such women living in Florida but I also witnessed the same in Pennsylvania.   Now age is definitely only a number in my mind but I thought this would make good options for pieces to compose.
Terry’s word for yesterday was GELID.  I used it with the cougar being icy in attitude to most she met (mostly women).
The wacky holidays are indeed my favorite challenge. You can work around them if you think about it.  Anything does go.
I have never had a Tootsie Roll drink.  I’m not sure if I’d like it or not, although I like a Tootsie Roll candy on occasion.  It’s been awhile since I’ve had a Tootsie Roll.  Now it’s making me think about one.  It was funny about the word dog biscuit.  I’ve been reading a book set in England.  Over there the word biscuit is a cookie.  So I’m thinking a dog biscuit is actually a cookie for a dog.  What do I know this just popped into my head. I’m just on my first cup of coffee so what do I know; not full on all four burners yet.
Until tomorrow....hope everyone has a good Wednesday; and as always Stay Safe.

also woman considered him a racy and

having him lick it off her neck
A really sensuous experience indeed

                       HOT STUFF

Happens that some nicknames are often
          given to certain people
Of course many use that name through out
          their lifetime
Their birth name we often tend to forget or
    never know

Seems we should never assume about a
        nickname
That a person called hot stuff may not be
        what you think
Unfortunate the individual may just like
         spicy foods
Forget about them possible being a sexy
          person
Funny but true....it’s happened way to often

They sensed a chill when around her
Competition she considered them to be
all vying for the single men
One caught her attention....
he also captured the eye of another
Her plan to work it to make him hers

TWENTY-EIGHT DAYS of LOVE....Day 23

I’m so relieved my writer’s block is now unblocked.  Yesterday after I finished my blog and posted it, I was able to compose the Wacky Holiday piece quickly.
The Valentine’s Word was YOU’RE CUTE/CUTIE; a word found on conversational hearts. I’m still going with the candy heart theme.  Cute is a word that in my opinion refers to an individual who is not beautiful, pretty, gorgeous or handsome but there is an adorable way about them; they are sweet and can be charming.  Personally I’d rather a cute individual as compared to someone who thinks they are all that and a bag of chips, hot chips in fact.  A beautiful or handsome face can be fine on the outside but rotten and nasty inside. I’ve found this time and again.  To me a cute person is a fair individual and doesn’t use their looks for gain.  Of course this is all my opinion.
In the piece CUTIE woman have not thought of the guy as cute or a hottie until someone else pointed it out.  It tells you that people sure can be easily swayed by a word or two.
In the second piece the guy is determined a player by many due to his looking for a rose and not seeing the orchid hidden among the roses.  In a way it’s my take off on a country western song by Mickey Gilles called “I Overlooked an Orchid”.  Orchids are indeed a rare beautiful flower. Actually these have been fun pieces to compose.  I am an observer of people; love putting them into scenarios.  I can imagine the guy thinking he’d rather have the richer of the two women; one who has an ugly heart over the other. Why? Some people are materialistic.  Possessions are temporary but a true and loving heart is always.
Terry’s daily word of yesterday was MAFFLARD.  It is described as a stammering or blundering fool.  I took it as a challenge to use the word about the guy who just can’t talk to his heart throb. In a way it reminds me of Cyrano de Bergerac; so what the mafflard guy needs is a plot similar to Cyrano. You do get the idea.  As it is, the hearts desire in my piece is shunned by the one who is her hearts desire.  Oh what a tangle web we weave.
In the end I’ll get it all sorted out.
Then I’ll have to observe new people for my plot series.
I loved doing the Wacky Holiday piece.  Oh I remember many a lunches at the Woolworth’s luncheon counter.  I still see the golden grilled cheese sandwich and piping hot crispy golden French fries on a Friday afternoon.  Like the dinosaur and the gas jockey pumping gas in your car and checking the oil, they are things of days gone by.
Until tomorrow....today’s the seventy-six anniversary of the Marines raising the flag on Iwo Jima; and as always Stay Safe.

                            CUTIE

Cute no one really thought him so
Until she mentioned that he was a hottie
Then every woman looked his way
It seemed he became a sought after man
Evidence that people can be easily swayed

                  HOW SHE SAW THINGS

She thought him cute and sweet
Adorable and charming how she saw him
Friendly to one and all....delightful to be
     around
Many regarded him as a player
always seeking the wrong type of
       woman....one with materialistic things
who treated people as a nonentity
Never did he consider a loving heart and
           kindness worth more than gold
Among the thorny roses in his life
he could not see the orchid

                     TWISTED WORDS

Everyone thought him to be a MAFFLARD
could not speak a coherent sentence
His words twisted like a pretzel
   whenever he spoke to her
It was no wonder she choose the other
What he needed....a Cyrano plot to help him
        out
or for her to realize the other guy preferred
   the rich cougar
instead of her the creative writer
Evidently he hoped she’d figure it all out

TWENTY-EIGHT DAYS of LOVE....Day 22

I had a big case of writers block yesterday.  I could not come up with anything at all. I guess my muse was dormant.  So in the meantime, I worked on stuff for my Amvets post; played games on my device; read emails and scrolled through social media.
It wasn’t until later in the day a few short things popped into my head.  Personally I should have just typed up fragments as I’ve done before but oh no I just went with the premise I can’t figure anything out.
Seems my muse decided to take off someplace with my imaginary friend (just kidding on friend).
Anyway yesterday the Valentine’s word for the day was BE MINE coming from a conversational heart.  I’m using the sayings the next few days. Today it’s CUTIE but you’ll read that tomorrow.
Terry’s word for yesterday was MALEFICENCE.  It’s a word I’ve never heard before or used.  With this word I wrote a three line piece.
I used BE MINE as an acrostic; also as a sequel poem.  I think once February comes to an end the poems about the woman and two men may end; although she may need to keep up her dilemma for St. Patty’s Day.  If my muse returns from wherever it went I
will see.
In my piece SHE NEVER KNEW, the person eats the conversational hearts in a certain order.  Believe or not, it comes from my life.  I eat the candies in that order.  In fact I use to eat NECCOs in a certain order.  Now as M&M’s go, well I just go with whatever comes out of the bag. Jelly beans I only like the red, purple and pink. Yes eat them in that order.  No other flavors do I like.
It’s Monday, the last in this second month of the year.  Try to make it a good week.
Until next time....I hope my muse and imaginary friend stay home today; as always Stay Safe.

                           BE MINE

Blue am I when you’re not around
Every minute seems like a hour

My heart aches just to be with you
Inasmuch as I want to say BE MINE
Not  knowing if you feel the same
Especially now that you are available

                SHE NEVER KNEW

She opened the tin heart box he gave her
   BE MINE....
all the conversational hearts had those
               two words
Never realizing what the note
      accompanying the gift meant
Not reading each piece of candy
she just ate them one by one
First the purple....then the yellow
    the white....green....she always saved the
           pink for last
How she loved those tasty confectionery
          treats

                    JUST a JOKE
They say she was maleficence
But she thought it just an innocent prank
No laughing matter when he couldn’t
   his keys she hid
