It was Ash Wednesday yesterday. I grew up in a Catholicism household. During my youth, no meat on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, as well every Friday and also on Wednesdays during Lent. I still in a way abstain from meat every Friday. Yesterday I went out for yet another birthday celebration but had shrimp. This is just how I do things I guess. We always had to give up something during Lent as well. Usually my step-siblings and I gave up soda; any type of soda.
Last year I planned to do this, but with lockdown last year never really saw this through. An act of letting someone know they are thought about and someone cares. This year I revised my list of one person for Lent’s forty-three days. This depends if I’ll see them or be around them in person; or if I’d need to send text/personal message or social media message or something nice by either a surprise (cup of coffee, drink, little cheer up token). Yesterday I sent an inspiration message and laugh to a friend. Today’s recipient is someone I’d be seeing in person; and will buy them a drink. I’m thinking these little messages or in person doing something may just bring some cheer to their life. Doing this can lift an individual’s spirit.
The Valentine’s word for yesterday was HONEY. I wrote a funny whimsical four line piece. The acrostic is one where the ending is left to the reader on the outcome. I like leaving things to the reader’s imagination. It gives them opportunity to try different scenarios; stimulating the mind.
Terry’s word of the day PROGNOSTICATE.
I used it as another sequel to HER DECISION. The guy has followed through with his plan; what will happen.
My husband is cheering for the guy with the Plan with a capital ‘P’ to win. I’m still deciding on how to play it through. Will she give Mr. Plan a chance? Will she not?
Until tomorrow....hope you all have a great day and as always Stay Safe.

HONEY
Happy they have been for over twenty years
Over the years he had pet names for her
Not once did he ever call her Honey
Even though she called him Honey on
occasion
Yesterday she finally found out why
πππππππππππππππ
SHE HAD ENOUGH
He called her honey all the time
To him she made this comment
That name to me is derogatory
Because I am not bee vomit

HOPE
He could not tell what would happen next
If only he could prognosticate the outcome
But he put his Plan with a capital
“P” in place
He handed her the envelope
containing the love poem he composed
She put it in her purse....did not open it
Then again she was sitting with the other
His only hope she’d eventually read
it....when she was alone

WACKY HOLIDAYS FEBRUARY 17th
(Ash Wednesday; My Way Day;
National Cabbage Day and Random
Act of Kindness Day)
Got a nice white head of cabbage to make
haluski
It’s Ash Wednesday a day to abstain from
meat
My way of following the rules of my
Catholicism upbringing
No meat Ash Wednesday, Good Friday and
all Fridays during Lent
I must give something up as well....
this year instead I’m doing acts of
kindness each day
Hoping to cheer others when they least
expect it
I did my first early this morning
