TWENTY-EIGHT DAYS of LOVE....Day 8

Happy Monday.  I’m doing a short blog as there’s a long verse for you to read. The Valentine’s Day word for yesterday was FLOWERS.  I did a rather long piece about a man sending six days worth of Valentine’s Day flowers to his love.  The man says how he feels through the bouquets.
I did an acrostic using flowers.  Years ago I did a piece about roses telling a story.  I think that triggered the idea behind the piece about the six days of bouquets.
Terry’s word for Sunday was FALLACY.  I decided to do the piece that sending or giving flowers is just a fallacy that it’s not a mandatory gift for Valentine’s Day.
I already received my gift from my husband. A week early but that’s fine.  I received a bottle of Tequila Rose.  It’s a tasty drink I enjoy. It is also pink; one of Valentine’s colors.
I finished off with the February 7th wacky holidays piece.
Until tomorrow....if you watched the Super Bowl hope you enjoyed the outcome. I know in my area everyone did.  Someone in my neighborhood shoot off fires after the game.    Have a great Monday and as always Stay Safe.

                           FLOWERS

Florist delivered a dazzling bouquet of
       various flowers
Lavender and orange roses so lovely
Orchids quite delicate and exquisite
White roses and colorful gerbera daisies
Each flower symbolizes a specific meaning
Red roses, red carnations and baby’s breath
Such an expression of love conveyed in a
      crystal vase

           SAYING IT WITH FLOWERS

He sent her flowers each day
beginning on the ninth of February
six days of celebrating Valentine’s Day
     a handmade card accompanying each
          delivery with a special message

Day One
  Six lavender roses....symbolizing
        enchantment
   the card message:
It was love at first glance

Day Two
A bouquet of colorful daisies....symbolic of
       joy and happiness
 the message:
You bring me delight each and every
       day

Day Three
    Six dark red carnations....indicating
              affection
      six pink carnations....for gratitude
   The note:
I am grateful to have you in my life
             All my love for you

Day Four
   A dozen red roses....signifying love
     One yellow rose....for friendship
   he wrote on the card:
You are not only the one I love but my
           dearest best friend

Day Five
   Six orchids of various
      shades....exemplifying beauty
  his message so sweet:
You are beautiful, exotic and rare like
         the orchid

Day Six
   A dozen white roses....expressing
             everlasting love
     Six orange roses....denoting desire
She cried at the message:
My love and desire for you is everlasting
         Please answer YES!

He had a hard time expressing his words
verbally so he said it with flowers and his
        handwritten words

Six days of flowers and words of
     endearment
She wondered how he planned to ask the
    big question

                        FALLACY GIFT

A fallacy that one needs to send flowers
     for Valentine’s Day
Flowers are just a marketing ploy for the
       florist
A bouquet will eventually wilt and be toss
     out
Rather she hoped he give her a box of
     chocolates,
        bottle of champagne
and a gift card to a bookstore
She could enjoy the candy, sip champagne
       and read the books
She’d always have them to reread again

      FEBRUARY 7th WACKY HOLIDAYS
(National Fettuccine Alfredo Day; Laura
Ingalls Wilder Day; Popcorn Day and
          Super Bowl Sunday)

The fettuccine Alfredo quite tasty
  and the Pinot Noir crisp
A satisfying lunch on a rainy day
I will sit and read a Laura Ingalls Wilder
   book
till it’s time for sports on the TV
A big bowl of buttery popcorn
    a few ice cold longnecks
      and shots of vanilla whiskey
as the Super Bowl plays out
  I’m only watching the commercials
