“A kiss on the hand can be quite continental” words from a song. The word
KISS was the Valentine’s word for February 9th. I had no idea what I wanted to write. Finally while sitting at my Amvets post I came up with my take on kiss. I thought of the touch of the lips then the term I heard once when people playing pool finally I thought of one of my favorite candies. What I never thought about was the music group KISS. It dawned on me after I read a friends word piece later in the day. I’ve always like the group KISS. There are different types of kisses; lips locks; kisses on the hand and of course the kissing of the rings of certain clergy in the Catholic Church. I always thought it so cavalier of a man kissing the ladies wrist. Personally I would like that when being introduced to a man; hold out my hand and instead of a handshake he kisses my wrist.
Terry’s word for yesterday was GELID. I’ve never heard it before but was able to use it in a four line piece.
The wacky holiday piece came to me while traveling out yesterday. Both my husband and I agreed the traffic was terrible. A pain definitely. It seemed everyone and their brother, mother, father, sister and grandparents were out on the roads.
I had changed before heading out to put on an orange shirt; for teen violence awareness. Earlier I wore red then realized I needed to put on the orange one.
On Monday I found cute Valentine’s cards to give to folks with the candy I purchased. I have bags of chocolate kisses and a few small boxes of heart shaped boxes of chocolates. I need to figure who to give which candy to which person.
This is a short piece as it’s a busy day for me.
Until tomorrow....have a great day and as always Stay Safe.

KISSES
Kiss....a touch of the lips
a sign of greeting,
reverence,
sexual desire
and love
Upon the lips from one lover to the other
an affectionate gesture
A peck on the cheek a token of hello
to a family member or friend
Some men will kiss the wrist of a woman
a sign of courtesy and admiration
Showing reverence the ring of a bishop,
cardinal and the Pope kissed
Kisses in billiards happen
one pool ball slightly touches another
X’s represent kisses on paper
But the best kisses are delicious little
chocolates

ICY HEART
She was not a warm person
Her heart gelid like a frozen pond
Wintry described her personality
It was his leaving that caused it

KISS
Kiss and hugs....X’s and O’s
Is signed at the bottom of the letter
Simply put....a heart image ❤️ to say I love
you
She liked using symbols instead of words

WACKY HOLIDAYS FEBRUARY 9th
(Orange Day; National Toothache Day; Read in the Bathtub Day; and National Pizza Day)
Wore my orange shirt today to celebrate
the month of teen date violence
awareness
Took a long bubble bath while I read a book
of love poems before heading out
The traffic on the road a total pain worse
than a toothache
Although my pepperoni and mushroom
pizza worth the trip to the pizzeria
The cold brews helped too
