It’s funny that one of the wacky holidays yesterday was National Football Hangover Day. It’s always the day after the Super Bowl. It came to me the reasoning could be that many begin to party in the afternoon where as the game is not played until after six in the evening. Why so late? I remember going to super bowl parties where games came on in the afternoon. Wouldn’t it be better for them to do so that way if attending a party you drive home before dark. Of course we all have opinions and that is mine.
Yesterday while picking up a box of Valentine’s to give a few folks, I noticed chocolates bunnies and jelly beans. Can’t believe Easter candy is out already. I am sure the marshmallow peep lovers are ecstatic; they can get their fix now. I personally am a fan of cream filled chocolate eggs. No! I did not buy any. I need to get through Valentine’s Day, my birthday, Mardi Gras, St. Patrick’s Day and the first day of spring before I can concentrate on Easter. It was on last St. Patrick’s Day we went into quarantine and lockdown. Easter we still were under quarantine status.
Today’s Valentine’s Day word was HEARTS. I decided to do a card verse; it’s the first piece.
Now Terry’s vocabulary word for today was GRAVITATE. I used it with the second piece along with the word heart.
The wacky holidays for February 8th were:
National Football Hangover Day; National Boy Scouts Day; National Kite Flying Day and Opera Day. I was able to figure out how to use them finally by eight o’clock last night. I just couldn’t get how I would fit them into something that would make sense. It was easy after I thought about kite flying and opera. The person in the piece had previously plans with her nephew to go kite flying as well as an opera date later with the man in her life. Of course the narrator definitely was suffering in the morning with a hangover.
I been finding it fun to try to use the wacky holidays together.
Until tomorrow....enjoy Tuesday and as always Stay Safe.

STAND STRONG
Only you have the key to open the lock on
my heart
For you bring me joy each and everyday
Together we have traveled rocky roads
weathered many storms
and seen the darkest of days
Never giving into despair, we always stood
strong
Our love and our faith solid like a rock
then, now and forever
My heart belongs to you
Happy Valentine’s Day

GRAVITATED HEARTS
Two lonely hearts gravitated towards one
another
Unsure of the outcome at the time
Will they be entwined together always
That consequence would be so fine
We gravitated towards each other
To us the end result was unknown
We ended up together forever and a day
And neither of us will ever be alone

FEBRUARY 8th WACKY HOLIDAYS
(National Boy Scouts Day; Opera Day;
National Kite Flying Day; National Football
Hangover Day)
The Boy Scouts motto of always be
prepared
Definitely had rung true on football
hangover day
Tomato juice on hand helped cure the
previous days indulging of beer and
shots
Getting me through the already planned
afternoon of kite flying with my
nephews
And the evening of attending the opera
performance with him
