TWENTY-EIGHT DAYS of LOVE....Day 15

Yesterday was Valentine’s Day. The word for yesterday was STVALENTINE.
The first piece is a history lesson verse about Saint Valentine.  I like history verses they are different and easy to read and comprehend.  The second writing is an acrostic.  This focuses on how hard it is to tell someone“I LOVE YOU” in a different manner.  Sometimes trying to come up with a new idea to convey this not easy. The way to say this is just to simply say “I LOVE YOU”.
Not everyone can come up with clever words or write poetic phrases.
The other piece focuses on a woman trying to decide between two men.  I took the gift ideas she gave from my giving out little tokens for Valentine’s Day to a few people. I laughed as I thought about how to get across her concepts of both guys gifts.  Was she thinking one was sweet and cute; the other hot and zesty?  I enjoyed this piece then thought about the real life recipients of the gifts. NO!   I do not think of either in that way but now I’ll need to analyze them sometime.  Its just that sometimes real events trigger what I compose.
My husband and I enjoyed our day at home with an Italian lunch he prepared and a few drinks. He did not watch the Daytona race but actually love type movies on one of the Hallmark channels.
I actually worked on my writing pieces and things for my Amvets volunteer job I do.  Then later I read awhile.  Neither of us felt going out the best thing on the day of hearts and flowers.
The wacky holiday piece centers on Valentine’s Day also.
Until tomorrow....have a good week; and as always Stay Safe.

             HISTORY FOR 2-14-2021

StValentine a third century Roman saint
 Associated with courtly love
Not only patron saint of Terni, Italy
     but epilepsy, beekeeping,
         plague and fainting as well
He is celebrated on February 14th
A day of the giving of cards, chocolates,
     flowers, romantic dinners and jewelry
to that special person in our life

                     ST. VALENTINE

Sometimes it’s hard to convey the flowery
      words in a different manner
To express our affections to that special
person who is important to us

Very often many just fumble through
as they try to come up with a witty idea
Although actions do speak louder than
words at times....they never seem to fail
Little gestures can mean a lot like a hug or
      kiss or soft caress
Even a handwritten letter....not typed or
       printed
Nice concept to disclose the feelings we
      perceive
Though some have issues with writing
         words as well as conversation
It seems they can never find just the
correct phrase to get their objective
           across
Nevertheless many keep trying to say
“I Love You” in clever ways
Every year many stress out when February
   14th rolls around....simply saying
            “I LOVE YOU” works best

                     HER SECRET

She crushed on two different guys
could not make up her mind
which one she liked the best
So on Valentine’s Day she gave them each
a gift and a valentine card signed
      ‘Your SecretAdmirer
The first to figure out who the gift giver
    the one she’d choose
To one she gave a box of chocolates
the other she gave a gift bag of hot and
        spicy snacks
She laughed as she thought about doing
so....were the gifts symbolic of how she
      perceived them?
Did she considered one luscious and cutesy
    the other zestful and fiery?
She’d never tell....her secret forever

        WACKY HOLIDAYS FEBRUARY 14th
(Valentine’s Day; National Cream Filled Chocolates Day; National Ferris Wheel Day and Daytona 500 Day)

Their love like a Ferris wheel
around and around they did go
Experiencing the ups and downs
   always weathering the stormy days
Valentine’s Day he gave up his watching
the Daytona 500 race to take her for a
      heart shaped pepperoni and mushroom
         pizza and beer
Gave her cream filled chocolates and wine
What more could she ask for....books would
   suffice
