NATIONAL POETRY MONTH....Day Eight

Good day!  It was another one of those nights I could not sleep.  I think I have to much on my mind about nothing; or could be someone in my neighborhood was shooting off fireworks. Why they were doing so I have no idea. Since they woke me up I decided again to get up to work on a piece for today. I ended up looking at the wacky/weird holiday for April eighth. One of the days listed brought back memories of when I was a child. The odd holiday listed 'Zoo Lovers Day'.  I loved the zoo in my younger days.  From the monkeys to the exotic birds I could not get enough of the place.  My favorites were the large cats; tigers, lions, etc.  I always wondered what it'd be like to own a lion cub not thinking about when it became full grown.  It's been years since I have been to a zoo of any kind (large or small).
As I thought about going as a child I recall a day of fun and adventure.
Enjoy today's piece.
Until tomorrow.....enjoy the day.
