NATIONAL POETRY MONTH....Day Eighteen

Spring is the time to prepare for summer. We do spring cleaning; rid our lives of things not needed anymore. Our outdoor areas get the attention not given during winter. We will spruce up the lawn; plant flowers around the property; hose off patio areas if we have them and clean lawn furniture. The thought of this triggered the following.  I always thought of spring like a bridge we cross; taking us from the cold winters to the pleasant summers.
After writing the poem I realize that snow is actually not a distant memory as yes many are still combating with it. Let's hope for those still having wintery weather spring pushes your way soon
Until tomorrow....have you started your spring chores as if yet?

       PREP FOR SUMMER
       © Scottie-ann Murphy

Scent of lilacs perfume the air
 Snow a distant memory
    as spring slowly makes its
       appearance
Outside chores begin
 Sprucing up the lawn....
  Planting of flowers....
 Bringing out of the outdoor
       furniture....
 Hosing down of the patio
        area....
Springtime tasks....tidying up our
    property for the summer
             season
Spring a bridge that takes us
from the harsh winter to the
           glorious days of summer
