NATIONAL POETRY MONTH....Day Eleven

I love animals.  Unfortunately I live in a community that does not allow pets; unless their a service animal.  I know many people who travel with their fur children (as I call them).  Like many, I consider pets as a family member.  In fact there are times I rather be around a dog or cat then a person. Of course that's my opinion. Years ago hotels/motels did not accept pets. But it seems more and more have pet friendly accommodations. Since April 11th is National Pet Day, I dedicated today's piece to pets everywhere.
I have another piece I quickly composed. This came from something I read on social media a while back.
Enjoy your day.
Until tomorrow......if you are lucky to own a pet give them a big hug.

Traveling....I stop for the night
  first place I come upon
'No dogs 🐢 allowed
   No cats 🐱 allowed'
Words on the sign....I despise
     Pets are family too
King, Sam and Rex
  Fluffy, Sylvia and Bootsie
No matter their name.....
  They are four legged children....
        Fur babies....
depending on their humans for
     care.....food they eat...water to
         drink...a shelter to keep
             them warm and safe
Their love unconditional
Happy to see us upon our
return home after a hard day's
                 work
A true friend always....never
       judging us....
    More loyal than many humans
'No dogs 🐢 allowed
    No cats 🐱 allowed'
The words on the sign.....
    Traveling with my family....
I search to find lodging elsewhere

Accept how things are
   Just go with the flow
      Sometimes it can not be
           changed
It is what it is....old cliche but true

Let go of the past....
You can not change what was
        It's just a history now
          A memory of yesterday

Look ahead to what will be
Have faith things will be better
     You alone control your destiny
No one but you can make
            your decisions
So look ahead....accept the now
       Forget the past
            Have hope for the future
