The JULY piece is true. When we bought our smaller place, the people who owned it prior left some stuff in a closet. We put the stuff in boxes out of the way. Finally we went through it. There were two older computer printers, key board and microwave that looked like it was no longer working, plus other stuff I did not want. Our trash collector took anything back then so we put the stuff out along with other things I did not think would even sell in the thrift store. There were no cable wires for the printer or keyboard. I was totally wrong. A man riding a bike stopped looked at the stuff; he pulled out a cell phone to make a call. Five minutes later a car pulls up; he takes the printers and key board puts them in the car. No sooner did he leave a pick-up truck stops and takes the microwave and a few other things. No idea if anything worked but it wasn’t my problem. I’ve seen people stop along side of the road to look through people’s discarded stuff. It’s so true that some people’s trash is another’s treasure. I wrote the acrostic first SUNDAY
piece about how I see myself this year doing a Staycation; as it’s only that way due to COVID-19 and being safe, I made up the word SAFECATION. We’re staying home and being safe. The second piece is an advice on standing up for your beliefs. It is never easy pleasing everyone and you should not have to do so. Please yourself, as I heard in a song once. You are an individual not part of the herd; follow no one. Today I reflected on the weather. It’s another humid day and the dog days of summer don’t begin till July 22nd. I guess these are the puppy days of summer.
Today is EAT YOUR JELLO DAY; I’d rather just have Jello Shots.
Until tomorrow....stay cool and stay safe.

July 12....DAILY REFLECTIONS
Another day that temperatures will be
hot and humid....there is chance of rain
this afternoon
Dogs day of summer don’t begin till July
22nd....perhaps this is the puppy days
then
Not sure why they call them dog
days....even a dog doesn’t like to be out
in the hot weather....or so I think

Junk I placed out for the trash collector in
the morning
Unbeknownst to me people would stop to
rummage through it
Little by little the pile of rubbish
disappears by noon
You never know what someone
considers treasure from
another’s discards

SUNDAY

Summertime this year, I am doing
Staycations
Understand I have no problem, I’m just
staying safe
Needing a new word though I decided on
Safecation
Decision on what to do each day a
not a challenge
And I’m finding Safecation interesting, so
far
Yesterday it was patioville with a cooler of
beverages, snacks and a good book

Stand up for what you believe at all times
Understand not everyone will agree with
you
Never give up or into the pressure of others
Don’t allow anyone to walk all over you
And never doubt yourself and your beliefs
You are an individual, not part of a herd
