I love breakfast food any time of day. Eggs over easy, crispy bacon, home fries (no grits for me), rye toast with grape jelly. I also enjoy pancakes and waffles or bagel with cream cheese or peanut butter. Saturdays lately I’ve been going back to being a kid and have bowl of cereal 🥣 while watching the Boomerang channel. I wrote the JULY piece about breakfast but being too lazy to cook it. There is a place we enjoy having breakfast when one can dine out safely. They have a big breakfast with two eggs (your way); three meats, bacon, sausage links and pork chops; grits or home fries or hash browns; a biscuit with sausage gravy. We order rye toast also. I end up bringing half the meat home and the biscuit and gravy for the next day. This meal fills us till supper time. I know there many who can eat breakfast anytime of day also.
The SATURDAY piece refers to my typical Saturday during college football season. We don’t watch the NFL only college games these days. We quit the NFL few years ago. We do patiently wait on Saturday for games to begin. On occasion we will watch a game at one of the veterans clubs but then I’m not the best individual to be watching sports out in public. I get very vocal; then there’s the Penn State score ritual I do. Let me just say people think I’m crazy.
I can’t believe the traffic on my street this morning. Where the heck are people going? I read on social media there was no toilet paper at a few places a Facebook friend had been at yesterday. Is that why people are out early hitting stores to stock up again? Are we in for round two of the scare? Why toilet paper? I do have a weird theory about it; it’s because we all are staying home; many are off work right now. People are using their bathrooms at home not one elsewhere. Ok that sounds dumb but could possibly be truth.
Yes I put on my daily reflection I’m doing Happy Hour at La Salle de Sejour. There is no mask required 😷 and friendly bartender; and loungewear is acceptable. If I decided to go to LA COUR de Jacques I’d have to put on regular clothes (ha ha).

It’s like the 12-Hours of Sebring on my
street this morning....no idea where
people are headed....twenty cars in
the past fifteen minutes....that is
a lot of traffic for 6am....
they were going over the speed
limit too
Then maybe they are going out to buy toilet
paper....a Facebook friend said they
were out at a few places she was at
yesterday....are we in for the
second round of toilet

we have the same routine
It may seem quite strange
but that is our Saturday thing
He eats glazed donut holes
I cheer for the Florida Gators
He cheers for the FSU Noles
Every Saturday morning
during football season
We have our coffee, donuts and holes
waiting to watch our teams
He drinks the plum wine
I sip Chablis
I cheer for Army
He cheers for Navy
Every Saturday afternoon
during football season
We watch the games
drink some wine
And we cheer for our teams
He and I root for Penn State
A very very true fact
Saturdays we wear our PSU gear
tee shirt, jersey, jewelry and hat
Saturday is our football 🏈 day
We only watch college teams
Don’t watch the NFL on Sundays
Cause that’s just not our thing
