July has arrived with no fanfare as June fads away in our memories. It’s the beginning of the third quarter of the year and second half of the year. Just like everyone we ponder what will occur. I did touch on the subject yesterday in my daily reflections but it keeps coming to mind.
I looked yesterday about what wacky weird holidays were coming in July. I found a lot of interesting holidays for celebrating the month. Sometimes you just need to find something to celebrate no matter how trivial during these strange times. I was more than surprised on what I found about July. It came down to writing about it. Over the years I’ve done the same about March so now July gets a turn to be celebrated with a writing. Now it brings me to an idea to do this for every month or not. It will be a surprise for sure if I do. What are your plans for the first full month of summer? Will it be Staycation due to uncertainty on traveling? If so the piece about July’s offerings may be something just for you. As it says in the writings you can combine the fun.
Until next time....it’s NATIONAL POSTAL WORKERS DAY thank your mailman for combatting the elements to bring your mail. It’s also NATIONAL GINGERSNAP DAY enjoy a cookie.

I’ll think about the new month....July gives

July comes along as the first full month of
summer
Under clear blue sunny skies we enjoy the
days outdoors
Look forward to summer nights sitting
on the veranda
Yet, we long for the colors autumn will bring

OFFERINGS of JULY

July arrives with not much fanfare
as June becomes a memory
We celebrate our country’s FREEDOM on
the fourth with a three day weekend
this year
Independence Day we gather for cookouts,
picnics and watching fireworks displays
But there is much more to the month to
look forward after the grand finale of
shooting skyrockets
July offers many other happenings to
celebrate
It’s NATIONAL HOTDOG MONTH....
enjoy a hot dog your favorite way
chili with cheese....relish, onion and
mustard....sauerkraut....or combination
of all
Beans, beans....NATIONAL BAKE BEAN
MONTH....a great side dish at any
cookout or barbecue
What is better than blueberry picking
during NATIONAL BLUEBERRY MONTH
Enjoying blueberries in pie, pancakes or in
fruit salad
A nice slice of ice cold watermelon on a
scorching July afternoon hits the spot
It’s NATIONAL WATERMELON MONTH
An outing in the park with a basket of picnic
fare on a lazy day
While celebrating NATIONAL PARKS and RECREATION MONTH along with
NATIONAL PICNIC MONTH
Get out the grill and cook outdoors as you
enjoy an evening at home
for the NATIONAL MONTH of
GRILLING
But no summer evening would be complete,
park day picnic or Independence Day
without ice cream
Have a cone, sundae or root beer float as
you observe NATIONAL ICE CREAM
MONTH
July offerings exciting and many
Combine a few of the observances
together....make it your special gala
But July only gives one week for the
celebration of vodka
Go make the most of the month....
You have thirty-one days to do so
