HOLIDAY WORD of the
DAY....GIFTS/PRESENTS

Today the holiday word is gifts/presents. Christmas is more than giving and receiving gifts. It’s a time of year that people seem to be nicer to one another; a feeling of peace and contentment and goodwill to all. I don’t know why we can’t be that way all year. It’s going out of your way to help someone in need; colorful lights and festive activities.
All through the years, I’ve realized Christmas is more than the glitz of packages, more than Santa and more than parties for the season. It’s time to reflection on the reason we celebrate. It’s the birth of the Christ Child born in humble beginnings. Jesus who loves us unconditionally and who died for our sins. We need to remember always what is important in our lives and how we should treat others. I reflected on my feelings of the holiday in the piece I composed ‘Greatest Gift’. It’s true that we at times receive a gift but don’t use it; we will exchange it or keep it to regift. One gift that can not be exchanged is giving of yourself to another; they can not regift your kindness or help and it’s something they can not put away never to use.
The second piece I focused is about how how a perfect gift is looked upon. The fancy paper, ribbon and bow. The item entrapped inside all the trimmings is the ultimate gift; but the next step is the finding the card.
Today the spreading of cheer is to contact a local church to make donation to help a family in need. I’ll be doing that later today.
Yesterday the food box item was spaghetti sauce today donate the pasta.
Until tomorrow....have a wonderful Friday and as always Stay Safe.

GREATEST GIFT
The greatest gift ever at Christmas
was the birth of the Christ Child
It is because of him we celebrate the holiday
All the fancy wrappings, ribbons and bows
look nice under the tree
But once the gifts are opened the fancy
wrappings discard
Some presents exchanged, regifted or never
used
Christmas.....
it’s more than what’s under the
tree
more than what a card conveys
more than the food on the table
and drinks for the holiday toast
Christmas is a celebration of the birth of
Jesus who loves us unconditionally
His love is the greatest gift of all
GIFT GIVING
Glittery red paper, satiny ribbon and bow
It’s the ideal holiday wrapping
From:Me.....To:You——on the gift tag
The perfect present I found to give
Still need to find the ultimate card
