**Holiday Word of the Day....ANGEL/S
********************************************
It’s the first day of December and a new month begins.  Let’s hope the last thirty-one days of 2020 be stress free.
The first Christmas/holiday word is Angel. I did two acrostics one relating to our troops and one relates to a tree.  The verse speaks of how angels who appear in our lives. Enough said.
Today let’s make someone laugh.  Send them a joke; call them by phone; tell a funny story in person; text a laugh to someone.  I remember what I did one year to make people chuckle. (Will tell you the story tomorrow). It doesn’t matter how you do it; go ahead and bring a laugh to someone who may need it or why not more than one person. Here’s a story about a funny adventure I had one Christmas season. I sort of chuckle as I recall it.
Our grandson Michael is 31 years old.  At the time he was in kindergarten we took him and another grandson JP to our church and then to a children’s Christmas party at an American Legion Post where we were members.  At the church, after the 10:30 mass there was an event for children. One of the men from our church was also Legion commander that year. He also played Santa for the community.  He first played Santa at church where both grandsons received a stocking filled with goodies and a silver dollar.  After the church event we were on our way to the Legion. At the time the Legion canteen was housed in the old farm house on the property; the social hall in the converted old barn. The party was being held in the social hall.  After we arrived, we gone into the where the party was being held.  I decided to walk over to the canteen for sodas for the boys.  Well I thought I was alone but the youngest of the two grandsons ran up behind me to go along. I took Mike by the hand and walked into the canteen. What a shock it was indeed. There sitting on a barstool was Santa who just ordered a Coors Light.  Mike looked surprised and went over to Santa. He said “hi Santa do you like beer?” Poor Santa had no idea what to say except yes.
The following day at school (Mike was in kindergarten with the son of one of my co-workers); he tells the class that Santa drinks Coors Light Beer after going to church.  Well the following day (a Tuesday) my co-worker comes into work and tells me about how my grandson tells the class that I took him to see Santa and that Santa drinks beer.
I guess you could say that either Santa was bad or as grandma should have known better to let Mike go with me to the canteen that day.  I guess I should have taken him back to the social hall where the other grandson and my husband where. I laugh when I think about this; especially since this particular grandson now drinks beer.
Until tomorrow....Enjoy your day and as always Stay Safe.

Angels they can be found most anywhere
      you go
They can be someone with who you are
acquainted or a person you don’t yet
             know
You may not realize, they are always close
       and near
To be there in times of sadness and there to
       give you cheer
Angels are there for you when you least
      expect it
So never fear, an angel is always watching
      over you

Angel on the top of the tree looking down
Nutcracker ornaments hang on the
      branches
Garland of gold strung loosely wraps around
      the evergreen
Every year we trim the Christmas tree on
      Black Friday
Lights then get lit on the first day of Advent

As we celebrate the season of peace
Not everyone will be with family
GI Joes and Janes serving in the military
        Everyone deployed we remember
Let us all pray for them during the
              holidays
