It’s 3:30am right now as I type this up. Of course I won’t post this till later.
It’s Friday! What a week for sure.
Yesterday after running a few things to my husband at rehab which I have to leave things with an aid who delivers it to him; I took a mental health day. COVID sucks.
I went to have lunch at my Amvets as one of the members does a Thursday lunch. I was able to be with people and talk with them.
One thing I did was meet up with two of the recipients of my Lenten Project who I had not seen. They were happy for the drinks they received. As I look to tomorrow’s recipient I’m just leaving drink chips for him.
My husband’s speech still not back to par. He’s still trying to get coherent sentences out. I asked are you frustrated and scared; he said “yes”. He did say to me “miss you”. He had me in tears after I hung up.
Terry’s daily word yesterday was GULLIBLE. I actually used it with my St. Patrick’s Day word of the day piece.
Yesterday the St. Patrick’s word was BLARNEY. I wrote about how certain people can be full of it. In a way blarney and gullible were words that sort of complimented each other.
The wacky holidays indeed a challenge. How does one center Johnny Appleseed day, Name Tag day with popcorn lovers day and oatmeal nut waffle day. I sat trying to picture things in my mind. Yes it was simple to write about waffles; use that as breakfast. Then I pictured my Forty and Eight Locale Voiture shirt we wear at all our promenades (meetings). My name is seen under the left shoulder; of course my name tag. As for popcorn, our 40&8 meeting place is at the local Amvets Post. They always have popcorn made. I generally get some after the meeting with my mug of beer. Picturing this in my mind helped with the writing piece.
Until tomorrow....make sure you wear your RED shirt as it’s Friday; as always Stay Safe.

BLARNEY
Beautifully can some individuals speak
Like honey dripping from their mouth
Attracting us to them with flattering
words
Realizing all the while they have the gift
of gab
Needless to say we are taken in by
them
Eloquently they can charm and
persuade us
Yet we definitely know they are full of
the blarney

MS. NAIVE
His voice so alluring
Flattering her with flowery words
and phrases
She believed all he said
telling her what she wanted to hear
Gullible indeed as everyone else knew
he was full of blarney
🔵🟢🔵🟢🔵🟢🔵🟢🔵🟢🔵🟢🔵
SWEET TALKING
Such a sweet talker
That eloquent voice allured her
time and again
Giving out compliments
praising her with flattery
She fawned all over him
Believed what he told her truthful
It became second nature to him
Blandishing admiration to whoever
he could fool
For such an intelligent woman
she was gullible when it came to men
Especially that sweet talker

DUPED AGAIN
Duped again!
How did she get herself in these
circumstances
She had a choice for volunteering at
the St. Patrick’s Day dinner
Either help cook the corn beef and
cabbage
or be errand girl to pick up rolls and
desserts
Knowing she was no chef
they knew she’d take the other
option no one wanted
She sure could be gullible

Oatmeal nut waffles to kick start the
morning
Sliced Granny Smith apple my

Headed out later for a meeting at the
