I’m not use to the time change yet; but it’s only one day. At least I’m getting an extra hour waking up now it’s 4:30am not 3:30am. Does sound odd.
SHAMROCK was yesterday’s St. Patrick’s Day word. I always thought a shamrock and four leaf clover the same. Not the same I learned through research. A shamrock is three leaf. I also was curious about why shamrock is associated with St. Patrick’s day. I found it very interesting.
I wrote my piece about shamrocks as a history piece.
As for my second piece about March I focused on holidays/events not many know occurring in March. A few are centered around veterans. I learned about the K-9 Veterans Day when doing my wacky/weird holiday countdown. Now it seems each month I need to research each day ahead of time looking for holidays or days centered around veterans.
Terry’s word for Sunday was ELEVATE. I used it in past tense. First piece about a woman taking charge of an organization; the second about guy who had his mood elevated. Used two different definitions of the word.
An interesting day of wacky holidays yesterday. No other comment. You need to read the piece. Parts of the piece ring true. I did have Middleswarth Jalapeño chips to celebrate. I thought to myself (did not write) why I don’t know anything about PI; truth in that. I know a lot about pie; well eating pie.
St. Patrick’s day will be in a few days. Many will be having corn beef and cabbage; I’m not a corn beef fan. Corn beef to me is a Jewish dish. I researched and found in Ireland one will not find corn beef on the menu with cabbage. It is not a National dish of Ireland. It seems it’s only in the U.S. that it is popular. As for ham and cabbage, now that I will eat. Green beer is an innovative item created in the U.S. As one who is Irish, I don’t do green beer or corn beef with my cabbage. When I lived in Pennsylvania, I saw a bagel shop sell green bagels for St. Patty’s day. They looked quite disgusting. People seem to think if it’s green it’s ok on St. Patrick’s day; no it’s not. Just because it’s colored or dyed green it’s not Irish; or look appetizing.
Well it’s Monday or as I call it St. Patrick’s Day Eve Eve.
Until tomorrow....happy Monday and as always Stay Safe.

SHAMROCK HISTORY
A shamrock has three leaves
Legend of the Irish....the shamrock

Of course the leaves have been said
to represent Faith, Hope and Love
An iconic symbol....seeing a shamrock
many think of Ireland

THE POSITION
She elevated to the highest level in the
organization
Many unsure of the type of job she’d do
Determined was she to take things
one meeting at a time
Do her best....give it one hundred-one
percent
In her opinion they could replace her
she had no qualms in that regard
Unfortunately no one else wanted the
position

SOARING SPIRITS
Down in the dumps he felt for weeks
But then she said yes to have drinks
His spirits soared....happy was he
The only problem now....
would his elevated outlook be deflated
if she only saw him as a friend

WACKY HOLIDAYS MARCH 14th
(National Potato Chip Day; National
Write Your Story Day; National PI
Day; International Ask a Question
Day and Learn About Butterflies
Day)
I open my journal with hopes to write a
memoir
A bowl of Middleswarth potato chips
near by....a glass of wine
No idea where to begin the story or
what to convey
As I stare out the window, I see a
butterfly flutter past
I begin to write on the blank page
The words “Why don’t I know anything about PI but a lot about pie?”
appear on the paper
A dumb question but interesting
thought
