It’s Friday; TGIF for many. It’s wearing of the red today; Remember Everyone Deployed.
It’s 3:15am at the moment. It was an interesting yesterday after running here and there but later I just took myself to a visit for the afternoon to my Amvets post to just unwind. Got to visit with people and check out what was going on there.
My St. Patrick’s word yesterday was
RAINBOW. I thought about the horrid rain I drive through on Wednesday then later it seemed to get a little brighter. I did not see a rainbow but generally look for one when the sun is out during rain. Both pieces reflected upon the sight of rainbows.
Terry’s word for the day was TRANQUIL. I wrote about a person standing on a dock at dawn while it’s quiet. She reflects on past life events.
I had fun with the wacky holidays. They were again a bit of a challenge to put together. Then again, the wacky holidays are indeed a challenge to compose into a writing.
I mentioned toy soldiers in the holiday piece as yesterday was Toy Soldier day. Now toy soldiers are not only men but now women. Finally they have toy soldier females. I say it’s about time indeed. I just need to get myself some.
This is short because I’m getting drowsy again.
Until tomorrow....wear your red and as always Stay Safe.

RAIN RAIN
Heavy rain showers fall
My wiper blades on full force
Trucks passing splashing up
even more water on my windshield
The sky a darken gray at
ten in the morning
As I keep driving along to my destination
a glimmer of sunlight peeks through the
clouds
I know there’ll be a rainbow soon 🌈
🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈
NEXT TIME
Follow the rainbow to the end
A pot of gold you may find
But it will be guarded by leprechauns
Who really knows?
Has anyone found the end of a rainbow?
Do I dare try?
Perhaps I’ll wait for the next rainy day
and the next rainbow I see
Until then I’ll look out my window
at the beautiful sight

PEACEFUL the MORN
How tranquil the early morning
Standing by the docks end
looking out over the calm lake waters
Lost in her thoughts....she thinks of him
The one she had hoped would be hers
forever
Memories of days and nights together
rolled like a movie reel through her mind
Their unexpected meeting....the comical
adventures
the loving moments....the drama
the final finale when he left
Like a four act play with no intermission
she recalled it all
as she stood by the lake in the
quietness of dawn before the world
awoke

WACKY HOLIDAYS MARCH 4th
(National Pound Cake Day; National
Grammar Day; Hug a G.I. Day and Toy
Soldier Day)
Unfortunately I won’t see a current G.I. to
hug today
Perhaps I can hug a veteran instead
After having pound cake and coffee
I plan to get my toy soldiers out for playtime
The female soldiers will be officers,
the males NCO’s and enlisted men
Finally have there are female solider figures
“Yeah we’ve come a long way ladies”
Grammatically the quote incorrect
but I say it my way
