☘️☘️IT’S ST. PATRICK’S DAY!☘️☘️
I’m and about at 7:00am. Yes I woke up at 3:00am but decided not to work on the blog then. This will not be the usual St. Paddy’s day with my husband in rehab. I did volunteer to pick up buns at the bread outlet and dessert that I ordered at yet another place for the dinner at the Amvets. Of course there is no charge so it means people will be out in droves for a free meal. I’m not sure if I’ll even stay at the club after delivering the items. It will depend on how it is there and how I feel. I’m not a corn beef person so perhaps IF, and that’s a big if, I do eat I’ll only have the cabbage, potatoes and carrots. Of course dessert also which I’m not sure what will be available besides the cupcakes I donate with green frosting.
I had two St. Patrick’s words for yesterday. One was BANSHEE and LEPRECHAUN the other. I did a history piece on banshee and leprechaun which I titled “Folklore”. The other piece is only partly true. As one of my Lenten acts of kindness, the recipient was given bar tickets for drinks with a note stating the reason. I did not sign the note with my name but with ‘Good Irish-Catholic Individual’. I have NO idea how he figured out it was me. When he thanked me he said thank you Irish Leprechaun. After hearing it, I got ticked off. I am not a bearded little man but a platinum haired female. Well I’ll bid my time to get back for his insult. I’ll probably harass him at the next meeting we’ll be involved with. It will not be anything bad. It’s all in fun indeed.
Terry’s word yesterday was SCAMPER. I used it as a couple going through the park as they play hooky from work.
As today my name is Fannon Muldoon
I wrote a greeting to everyone from me using my Irish name for the day. I’m sure you recall I use the name on St. Paddy’s day; mentioned it in previous blog.
Enjoy the wacky holiday piece. It was again fun to compose.
Until tomorrow....happy St. Patrick’s Day and as always Stay Safe.

GREETINGS FANNON MULDOON
The shamrocks are in bloom today
Tis the day for the wearin’ of the green
Top o’ the morning one and all
An Irish song let’s all sing
The Murphy clan, the McCarthy clan
the McGill’s and the Shea’s
will celebrate from dawn to dusk
As well as late into the night
Drink, eat and make merry is a must
you see it is their right
Ham and cabbage, shepherds
pie, colcannon and Irish stew
they will eat
Have a few pints of Guinness to wash
down the Jaminsons shots
To the fiddle stamp their feet
Dance a lively Irish jig until they tire out
“ERIN GO BRAGH” they will proudly
shout
Lift their mug of brew in a toast
“SLAINTE” all will say
“Some maybe Irish once a year,
but we are everyday”
So a Happy St. Patrick’s Day
May the luck of the Irish always be with
you and God Bless
A St. Paddy’s message to one and all
from Fannon Muldoon

NICE IRISH GIRL
He called her a leprechaun
when thanking her for the card
she left for him
A ‘HAVE a NICE DAY’ greeting
as part of her acts of kindness
project for the Lenten season
Highly insulted at the term
leprechaun
she was no little bearded man
Not signing her name on the card
he figured out
the Good Irish-Catholic colleen
was her
Always doing good deeds
being sweet and nice her label
But she could be nasty when provoked
he’s lucky never seeing that side
of her....yet

FOLKLORE
Banshees wail mournfully
said to be female in spirit
Leprechauns identified by a
tap-tap-tapping of tiny cobbler
hammers on shoes
are known to be male
Legend if you find a leprechaun
hold him dear....he’ll grant you three
wishes
Although folklore has leprechauns
partaking in mischief
No doubt that’s true....they hide their
pots of gold at the rainbow end
which is never found

PLAYING HOOKY
With picnic goodies in the hamper
Through the park do we scamper
Looking for the perfect spot to stop
On a late sunny morning we do play
Hooky from our jobs for the day
To have quality time together
We will eat and sip some wine
As we while away the time
Enjoying each other’s company
Just you, I and Mother Nature
Until in the lake we see the gator
Coming close to the shoreline
Scampering we head out
of the park
Try to find another place to
enjoy our picnic
