JUST JUNE....Day 11

  

I found an odd inspiration for my first piece.  I used one of my FtS characters and a person I know who drinks bottle beer. Not a light beer does she drink, the heavy stuff.  I thought of a guy in a bar looking to pick up a woman.  He notices one woman on her laptop the next writing in a journal like my two FtS characters.  He notices the bottle beer lady and is interested; this is his type of woman.  I find people watching can indeed inspire some pieces I write. 

The daily toy word yesterday was PEDAL CAR.  I never had one.  I thought about my first year living with my uncle’s family in Chicago. My cousin a few weeks younger than I. I wrote the pedal car about what might have been something we’d do if we had one. 

Today I have so much to do. Need to be gone before eight; need gas in my car then an errand that’s an hour away. Later to see my husband.  It’s never ending. 

Yesterday I played the dice game Ship, Captain and Crew.  I only one once.  The lucky charm/unlucky charm stayed the whole time.  I’m sure if they left I’d have won more.  

Well it’s time to get cracking for the day.

                   THE PICKUP

Sipping a shot of Jack

  a man glances around the bar

His eyes focusing on a woman 

   working on her laptop

Thoughts whirl through his mind 

“What is she typing? Is it an email to 

     someone special?”

He notices a smile cross her face 

  looking away from that woman

     another female catches his eye

 This woman writes in a journal

He wonders what she’s scribbling 

  Glancing away a third woman grabs  

      his attention 

This one is drinking a bottle of beer 

    “Now that’s my type” 

        he decides as he plans his move

I’m pedaling my red car

Up and down South May Street

Racing my cousin John in his blue car

I win....we begin again

The race is on

    reflections....today I’ll use a purple 

      inked pen 

Sipping on iced tea with a lemon slice

I’ll break for lunch of tasty egg rolls

  and a black cow for dessert
