DOG DAY of SUMMER....August 20th

 

It was an overcast rainy day yesterday; I stayed indoors all day.  Today I have things that need to be done.  I’m making lists.  A few weeks ago I wrote the flash fiction piece about lists.  It was not far off from me.  I don’t take my phone in stores, so my electronic note app is useless for me.  I write my lists on paper; check off each as I complete it.  I do make sure I have my lists too.  Funny that I somehow work from lists or an agenda.  The agenda was part of my running meetings when I was an American Legion Commander and then again most recently as Locale Chef de Gare of my 40&8 Voiture.  I worked off an agenda and lists.  Do lists work for me? Yes they do. 

Today’s acrostic piece came to me after I saw people stopping at a neighbor’s front yard going through stuff put out for trash.  I thought about the ‘one man’s trash is another man’s treasure’.  It is true for me.  I’ve purchased from thrift stores; items discarded by someone.  The best saying I loved as a kid was wear clean underwear in case of accident.  I mean if I had an accident I’d be least worry about my undies.  I do ponder these old sayings and think about them from time to time.  

Today is National Radio Day so crank yours up and listen to some tunes.

August 20th....DAILY REFLECTIONS 

It’s nice to see the sun today....after the 

   overcast rainy day yesterday....it was a 

     quiet day....did not venture out

Making my lists for today....now I need to     

   remember to take them with me....and it’ll 

     be on paper....lists on my electronic 

       notes useless....don’t take my phone in 

          the stores with me 

My lists of lists of lists....I did not joke when 

   I wrote that piece....I have at least three 

      lists before leaving to do errands

 As I ponder old sayings I heard in my 

     youth, they make me think long and 

       hard 🤔 

Understanding them sometimes confusing 

     and puzzling, trying to figure them out 

Got to wear clean underwear in case of an 

    accident, what’s the purpose of this 

Underwear being clean would be the least 

    of your worries in this situation  

Some old sayings strange, ‘one man’s 

    trash is another man’s treasure‘

Truth can be to that, I’ve purchased from 

     second hand stores
