DOG DAYS of SUMMER....August 9th

Today is a great wacky holiday for me.  It’s National Book Lovers Day.  Yes I’m excited as I love to read.  I’ll be spending most of my day reading.  Reading takes me into exciting situations and places.  I’ve been to places I’d never expected to be.  Yesterday I found myself in a small area in Virginia.  Who knows where I’ll be today. Yesterday for International Cat Day the neighbor’s cat made its presence known.  Today I’ve believe it is still celebrating as it is outside under my window meowing. No it’s not distressed as the owner is also out side. Guess the cat feels one day was not enough to celebrate. Even their dog seemed to be quiet yesterday so the cat could make noise.  I did not hear one peep, I mean bark, from the dog yesterday.
My AUGUST acrostic piece is sort of comical.  As we tend to text, personal message, email or tweet, I decided to write about a woman getting a marriage proposal via text.  Her dilemma was how to respond. She decided at the end to reply snail mail.  This is such a funny thing I did as we tend to rely so much in texts etc...
The verse I composed had to do with a woman getting asked by her ex-lover for a second chance.  It was fun saying goodbye in different languages.  There are those who sometimes wants a second chance; screw up the relationship and ask again for a second chance.  This did not come from my personal life but what I’ve heard during the years.
Today is Sunday and I hope you all have a truly blessed day.  If you’re a book lover enjoy reading.
Until next time....Be Kind and Be Safe.

     August 9th....DAILY REFLECTIONS

I am celebrating today’s wacky/weird
     holiday....it’s National Book Lovers
Day....to celebrate I’ll read my day away

Yesterday my neighbor’s cat celebrated
   International Cat Day....it made its
      presence known by meowing outside
my window....it is still celebrating I
            hear meows again

At least I’ll be quiet and not disturb anyone
    while I celebrate today....just me and a
book....a glass of wine....or perhaps two
         wines

As I stand on the dock, looking out over the
    lake, I ponder my dilemma

Undecided what to do, how to do it; yes or
no, what answer do I give

Getting the proposal, something I had
hoped for, but in a romantically setting

Unexpectedly having it asked by text
      message a mere shock indeed

Should I reply via text, personal message,
email or thorough social media account

Your text received, answer NO; perhaps by
    snail mail I’ll reply

         GOOD BYE SOUNDS SWEET

Sitting at dawn on the dock bench
Looking out over the quiet lake
Pondering my decision of what to do
And the actions I need to make

Do I tell you yes, I wonder
Or should I sternly reply no
Do I want you to stay in my life
Or do I want really you to go

You torn heart in pieces before
When you cheated and walked out on me
Now you want a second chance at us
You’re begging on bended knee

However spoken the word goodbye is not
     hard to convey
To a scoundrel like you and a cheater
Au revoir, adios, ciao, adieu, farewell,
Those words never sounded sweeter

Second chance of a second chance
Is what this exactly will be
You had your second chance before
So now I’m telling you to leave
