DOG DAYS of SUMMER....August 3rd

  

I guess I just got carried away with AUGUST as I did another acrostic piece spelling AUGUST. This comes from the fact of having to wear masks everyplace.  The mask fogs up my glasses.  There is nothing I can do to change it.  Masks are required in my area.  At least I have not been anyplace that is taking temperatures before entering. Just how are they doing it?  It has to be costly.  Throw away thermometers must cost a lot of money; forehead ones would not work well, I don’t think,  as living in Florida you walk from your car to where you are going; it’s hot and you may be hot. I don’t know just my thought.  

Years ago I wrote something in a card to a person about Monday blues and blahs. They worked till after five and said it was like their life was on a conveyor belt.  Get up, dressed, work etc...  I never thought of it that way for a long time but it seemed as if not just Monday was like that but the rest of the week.  But for me, Monday was the worse, coming off the weekend. Now I’m disliking the day because it’s a new week begins that we are quarantined from going places.  It’s just that I do miss socializing with those at the clubs.  Doing the fundraising events that will help others; but we know this will pass and hopefully the clubs will open again. 

Until tomorrow....it’s White Wine Day perhaps a glass will help.

     August 3rd....DAILY REFLECTIONS 

Monday, Monday, Monday....maybe by 

    saying it three times it’ll go away....

      never liked Monday....still don’t 

Old habits are hard to break....no reason 

     now to dislike Monday....I’m 

          retired....guess cause now it’s a new 

            week of quarantine 

So I’ll just go with the flow....roll with the 

     tide....roll with the punches....maybe a 

        rum punch would work

   Again I’m having thoughts about what to 

         do today 

Uncertain if I should head out to the store 

        or stay put

Going there I need to wear a mask, at least 

    they aren’t taking temperatures as some 

          places 

Unhappy am I about being masked as my 

       glasses fog up when wearing it 

Still, one must comply with the regulations 

        set forth  

There is a sign when heading into the store

   stating ‘Masks must be worn’, I do

Always the same routine 

Get up, get dressed and go to work

Slave away till five fifteen 

Home again then dinner time

Few household chores you do

Calling it a day by ten o’clock

Ends the Monday blahs and blues
