DOG DAYS of SUMMER....August 1st

Today is short reading.
August begins today.  No I won’t be doing an acrostic piece everyday just wanted to do one today.  My daily challenge was to
write a flash fiction about woman making lists.  Funny because I’ve become one of those that do.  So I did the piece from how she does lists about everything she has to do while out plus a list of items she needs to take on those errands.  These days I’ve added hand sanitizer, mask and gloves to the list, although I keep the masks and gloves in the car along with my key ring with store rewards cards.
Today’s a new month. Not sure what the month will bring; but sure for few days COVID-19 will be second lead story at least in the southeast states along the Atlantic.
There is still time for you to get back on track with your New Year goals/intentions/aspirations or what ever you may call them.  I’m trying hard to keep mine or get mine back on track but times it’s not easy.  Today is National Clown Day; unfortunately I do not like clowns as they scare me.  So it’s Saturday and the weekend begins.
Until tomorrow....have a good day.

     August 1st....DAILY REFLECTIONS

It’s Saturday the start of the weekend....it’s
the first day of a new month....153 days
      left in 2020

What will be the new terror this
month....last month we heard all about
the coin shortage....saw a sign at
place I got gas the other day about
coin shortage but did not read it
                    all

I know today’s big news is Isaias....this will
be in the news for few days....COVID-19
will be jealous not to be top story for few
          days....at least in Florida

A new month begins today
Understand it’s a new chance for you
Getting those New Year goals back on track  Unless you’ve manage to keep those
        intentions intact
So if you have kept your objectives you’re
             fortunate
Though if not, there is still time till the year
          ends

Madison had made a few New Years goals that she tried to achieve.  The one she worked hard to make sure did not falter was to write down lists of what she needed to complete when leaving home to do errands.  Madison had issues with getting distracted at the grocery and drug store in particular.  Even though she knew what she needed, a BOGO or sale would have her looking at items she necessarily did not need at the time.  Half the time she’d return home without what she intended to buy.  It was then on New Years Day she made the decision that one of her good intentions for the year would be to write out a list when shopping.  It became part of her routine; until the day she realized she forgot the little key ring which held her store loyalty/rewards cards.
A few days later she forgot to take mail to the post office as she also needed stamps.
What I need to do”, she thought “is to write a list of what I need to do while I am out as well as a list for each store where I will be shopping”.
That seemed to work out well, except she would forget the store list a few times.  With everything she needed to take when she left the house to do her errands, Madison came up with a plan. Her friends and boyfriend began to call her The List Lady.  She did not actually care as once she changed her way of doing things, it became routine.  It made her life easier.
This morning she woke up and made her lists for the day.  While having her breakfast and her first cup of coffee she completed the first one quickly.
    TO DO LIST
 a.  Bank
  b. Gas up the car
   c.  Post Office
       d. Drug Store
          e.  Liquor Store
            f. Grocery Store

Afterwards while having her second cup of coffee she began working on list number two.
DRUG STORE LIST
  1. Vitamins
  2.  Shampoo
  3.  Deodorant
  4. Toothpaste
  5. Mouthwash
  6. Soap

List number three was the most important as she wanted to make certain she had everything for the evening. It was her turn to host game night.
LIQUOR STORE LIST
  a). Beer
     b). Wine
         c). Jim Beam
            d). Vodka
              e). The Captain

Going to the grocery store had always been a challenge.  She realized it one day that she should write down what items were needed once they were finished or close to be depleted.
GROCERY STORE LIST
A. Bread
B. Milk
C.  Eggs
D.  Cereal
E.  Fruit
F.  Salad Makings
G.  Snack Items
H. Soda (Coke Zero)
 I. Cranberry Juice

Once she completed the lists she put them next to her purse.
The most important of lists was what she needed to take when she left home. This list sat on the table by the door next to her purse.
DON’T FORGET LIST
1).   Car Keys
  2).  Cell Phone
     3).  Wallet/Purse
        4).  Coupons
           5).  Store rewards cards
             6).  Hand Sanitizer
               7).  Gloves
                   8).  Masks
9).  And most IMPORTANTLY all the lists

Madison had a plaque made and it hung on the wall over the table.
                    LISTS....
           DON’T LEAVE HOME
              WITHOUT THEM
