DOG DAYS of SUMMER....August 6th

Short reading today.
Again I’m up before sunrise.  Heard the Sandhill Cranes and looked out the window to watch them.  They are fun to watch.  I love how they stroll on spindly legs; I watched them cross the street and of course they stopped traffic going both ways.
My AUGUST acrostic is about the wacky holiday today.  I decided to do another today but I’m not making it my habit.  I am debating on celebrating today.
The verse is true to form.  I could not think of anything to put on paper, or notes, or word document.  It is true piece but I ended up typing after the ABCs, Halloween is coming the witches begin to brew.  Actually I kept the word doc as it may make good lines eventually.  I used the words in the verse about a holiday as they all seem to mesh with how stores sell items.  Today I received an email from a store where I have rewards card and the ad sent was for Halloween items.  I’m sure if I head into a store I’ll see Halloween and I’m really thinking Christmas as well.
Today is National Root Beer Float Day....so enjoy one.
Until next time....have a good day.  Be Kind!  Stay Safe!

       August 6th....DAILY REFLECTIONS

Up with Mr. Sun....having coffee and
listening while the Sandhill Cranes make
    their trumpeting sounds....I spot them
      across the street

I watch them stroll along then come across
     the street....love how they stop
      traffic....taking their time....probably
making some of the drivers late for
           work

Love watching the Sandhill Cranes....now
my excitement for the morning  is
over....I’ll need to find something else
          thrilling today

A root beer float sounds good today

Unable to do so, I have no makings on hand

Guess it’s a trip to the store for me

Unfortunately I’ll need to wear a mask
      if I do

Sonic and Dairy Queen drive through would
       work better

There is always a solution and I stay
          unmasked sitting in my car

Nothing at the moment comes to my mind
For me to pen a poem or a story
Afraid that I’m all out of words to use
I am beginning to feel woe and worry

I sit at my desk with a pen in hand
A blank page in front of me
Doodling seems to be what I should do
Then perhaps write the ABCs

It appears this scribbling down on paper
Is not the way I should go
I’ll open a document on the computer
Maybe that will ease my woe

Opened up a doc on Microsoft word
The cursor it keeps on a blinking
Uncertain if this such was a good idea
What in the world was I thinking

My fingers are poised over the key board
Typing rapidly the words do now flow
Unfortunately they do not make any sense
As I typed Merry Hallowsgiving Day,
       Ho Ho Ho
