JULY JEWELS….Day 8

 

It was a rainy yesterday morning and into the afternoon.  The type of day to stay inside and read. 

Today I visit my husband at rehab. Actually it’s today, tomorrow and both weekend days. 

Just hope it’s not a rainy day as some people can’t drive in the rain; use to think it was snow but now it is indeed rain. 

The vintage cartoon yesterday was WOODY WOOD PECKER. Now I’ve never been a fan of that cartoon.  Enough said. 

My thoughts on Woody is I’m sure his red head. I’ve always been afraid or scared of red headed individuals (male mostly).  This is all thanks to Howdy Doody.  The puppet scared me as a kid.  A funny story when one thinks about it. 

I think I’ll leave the story for vintage television show month. I’m sure that might be one of the old shows in the coming months.  Also I think my fear of red headed males goes with me being scared of clowns who all seem to have red hair. 

Funny how yesterday the weird holidays centered around food and drink (the dive bar day).  It seems these things come together at times. Then again it’s hard to connect the wacky holidays. 

It seems as if this week just flew on by; perhaps because Monday celebrated as a federal holiday. 

I think about this day fifty years ago. I remember what I was doing that day and then that evening.  How odd that this date July 8th comes on a Thursday fifty years later. More about this tomorrow.

  Strawberry Sundae Day; Chocolate 

   Day and National Dive Bar Day)

No plans to go to a dive bar today

 It is a rainy day….staying indoors 

Making macaroni and cheese for lunch

A strawberry sundae for dessert

 Perhaps I’ll put some chocolate syrup

  on the ice cream
