HALLOWEEN....Day Eight

Today’s word challenge quite different definitely.  The FALL/HALLOWEEN word was VAMPIRE.
The challenge was to write an acrostic, making it a short brief few moments in the life of one of my characters. I used Clarisse since it’s Halloween and the word is VAMPIRE.  This was a timed 15 minute piece to complete.  It was not as easy as I thought but in the end quite fun.
One thing I’ve never dressed up as for Halloween was a vampire.  I’ve done zombie and witch but vampire never something I’ve wanted to do.  In my years of seeing costumes I must admit I seen some really good vampire outfits.  One person I recall had contact lenses that did something to their eyes and they had fanged teeth.
I thought about something I saw the other day; a neon pink wig.  I remember spraying my own hair very punky pink.  I did that twice as a matter of fact. It took awhile to get it washed out of my hair; I had to do two washings the first time I did it.  The year I moved to Florida, the last Halloween up in Pennsylvania, I sprayed my hair with pink streaks.  That week we were house/animal sitting for friends.  They had a black cat.  As I began to spray my hair their cat got into the way and ended getting pink on her fur.  It was hard trying to catch her and wash it off but I thought I got it all. Unfortunately I did not and she went most of the day with pink on her tail. This time my hair was shorter so it did not take as long to wash it out.  I’ve thought about doing color streaks again, but decided as I wear a hat it would be useless as no one would really notice it.
This year with Halloween being on Saturday I’ve notice some places having their parties on Friday.  I guess that means other places will throw parties on Saturday.  It’s a shame they canceled many family oriented events for the kids this year due to COVID-19; but I do think kids will be wearing masks so just put a face mask under the mask.
Yesterday I wore my mask into the bank as I had an appointment there.  The mask was my fancy one as I call it.  Afterwards I realize I had on my WAC ball cap.  It dawned on me that my face was completely covered with the hat being low on my head.  I think I wasn’t suppose to wear the hat at this time if wearing a mask.  Some reason I heard or read this about the bank.
I do feel bad the kids are not having a fun Halloween trick-or-treating this year.
As I think about costumes for this year I’m thinking people will be making a mask costume (going as face mask) or roll of toilet paper costume or even dressing up like bottle of hand sanitizer.
Actually thinking of the hand sanitizer I recall years ago a small bottle of sanitizer was one of the gag gifts i gave away as
Ms. Santa. I picked up three pack bottles (I’d say about five or six) wrote a funny message accompanying the bottle that read:
‘You were bad all year so Santa is washing his hands of you.’
I remember people being ticked off they got a gag gift of the sanitizer and not one of the cuter gifts I gave.  I’m sure today they’d jump at getting a bottle of the sanitizer.
It’s Thursday or as I call it Friday Eve.
Until tomorrow....have a nice day and Stay Safe.

Very unexpectedly she felt his presence
        behind her

As she turned around, the silver skull
     annulet caught her eye

Mounted on a silver leather cord securely
     hanging around his neck

Pair of ruby red eyes of the skull seem to
       stare at Clarisse

Impossible to look away, mesmerized at the
       object she kept gazing

Reflections from the dim light made the
       skull‘s orbs glow brightly

Eyes beckonIng her to come closer, closer
      and closer to the man

Suddenly she came to her senses, turned
and walked away from Count Vronski
