It’s Saturday two weeks until Halloween. Today’s word was MUMMY.
I had a hard time deciding what to write. The twenty minute timer began to click and I needed something. I decided on Clarisse attending outings on Halloween. First I had her at the Ghouls Gala then hurrying off to a new club. That’s when I came up with the use of mummy. Now what to do in the club and get to ending. A costume contest of course. I decided I wanted Count Vronski dressed as something unpredictable so it was Batman. As for Clarisse I picked the candy corn queen as I liked a picture of this costume I saw awhile back. It was what I pictured in my mind as what I am sure many will want to dress as for 2020.
This indeed was a hard word to use or for me it was.
I hope you have a great day. Only two weeks to decide on your costumes.
Until next time....as always Stay Safe.

Clarisse walked into the candlelit room. Her eyes needed to adjust to her surroundings. Tonight was the yearly Ghouls Gala. She decided to make an appearance for an hour or two before heading to the next party. So many parties to attend, Clarisse wanted to get to as many as possible. After all it was her favorite holiday.
The new club in town would be having a buffet around ten o’clock and half priced drink specials. MUMMIES and BATTIES had just opened a few month ago and always seemed to draw a good crowd. Clarisse wondered if it were the drink specials and half price appetizers after nine o’clock on most nights or perhaps the entertainment. Of course it could be the trivia game on the television that you play from your phone or hand held device. Clarisse was a half way decent player and in the past week won twice when the club offered cash for the top three winners in the venue during one of the rounds. Of course she only did well on 50’s and 60’s trivia questions thanks to her grandmother who introduced her to those decades.
After spending a few hours at the Ghouls Gala she rode off to the party at MUMMIES and BATTIES. Walking into the club she noticed the sign for the costume party. Many customers were either dressed like a mummy or bat. Of course she thought, no doubt they expected to win dressing like the venues name. Other interesting costumes included a werewolf, a man in drag looking like Marilyn Monroe, someone wearing a mask that looked like the President, a flapper and of course a sexy cop and a fireman. Clarisse saw two figures off to one side. Their costumes caught her eye. They were definitely going for a statement she thought. In their hands they held miniature cauldrons from which they sipped a drink. No doubt they were enjoying one of the drink specials of the night.
Clarisse, herself, was dressed as the candy corn queen. Inside her candy corn shaped purse she had mini bags of the confection which she passed out to people. As she made her way over to the bar she saw Count Vronski. He decided to dress as Batman again for the third year in a row while his friend Stefan dressed as Robin. They too had left the Ghouls Gala for this event. Once she got to the bar, she took the last vacant stool and ordered a candy corn martini. Her eyes darted here and there around the room watching dancers and those just having a fun evening.
The costume judging was about to begin. Those wanting to be judged walked in a circle around the dance floor to the song Monster Mash. The two bartenders and one server were the judges. It was no surprise the top prizes went to the couple Clarisse first noticed when she arrived. They depicted the year perfectly.
Only in the year 2020 on Halloween could someone dressed like a roll of Scott Tissue and a face mask win the costume contest.
