The week seem to speed by. Odd as I really did not do anything special. I wrote a poem a day; blog and my daily reflections. I’m looking forward to getting back out again places. Today I have plans to venture out into the world. Hurray! If only to do errands. I want to still be safe from the crowds still. People need to still keep safe distance but everyone is entitled to their opinion on the subject. Even though I’m not out at the Amvets as most Fridays I still am wearing my RED shirt and RED wrist band. I still send a reminder on social media to inform everyone also. It’s my thing and my daily reflection for the day.
The ๐ sunset/๐
sunrise poem comes from a romantic gesture in my poem “ALL OR NOTHING” that is in my book of love poems. One gesture is to view every sunrise and sunset together. For some reason it popped into my head yesterday about doing a poem based on that idea. I’ve always enjoyed the sunset with all the splendid hues. I’ve had the opportunity to view it while looking out the large picture window of my VFW Post as the sun sets over Lake Jackson. In the morning I can walk down to the lake and watch as the sun rises. I am hoping to view the setting sun again when the VFW reopens and perhaps find inspiration for another Lake Jackson poem.
Until next time....it’s Friday wear the RED!

SUNSET....SUNRISE
© Scottie-ann Murphy
The sun is setting, let’s you and I view
Reds, yellows, pinks and purplish hues
As the day slowly falls into the night
The setting sun is a wondrous sight
Hand in hand we will observe from at the
lake
Plans for tomorrow together we will make
To meet again before the rising sun
Viewing the sunrise together would be fun
We will watch as another day arrives
Both of us thanking God to be alive
To enjoy the beauty of a brand new day
As we look eastward for the sun’s first ray
