MAY DAYS of FUN....Day Twenty-eight

 Short Read today

I read the other day the BOSCOV store in downtown Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania will be reopening after the shut down.  When I lived in that area that was one of my favorite places to shop especially at Christmas time.  The other store I enjoyed  is no longer in that area is BON-TON.  The BON-TON was more of an upscale store in my opinion.  That was my ‘go to’ store for wedding shower and baby shower gifts.  One reason was they had free gift wrapping.  Such a sad state the BON-TON is no longer there.  There is just something about BOSCOV store that I enjoy.  I always found the most interesting items there.  They once had a campaign that said “Did you BOSCOV today?”
It always sticks in my mind when I see someone from that area posting on social media about shopping there. For some reason I thought of this when I woke up. No doubt many will be glad to get out to the stores again but I did read that this store has precautions in play.
My porch poem comes from an image of summer and lazy afternoons.  An old swing hung on a porch where two friends sit and chat.  I have a swing out in my side yard. I like to go out there on occasion to sit and read with a glass of wine.  My neighbor’s cat finds it a comfy place to rest.  No problem with that.
Until next time....I’ll have shopping memories of BOSCOV today; perhaps I’ll sit in my swing and enjoy my thoughts

Let’s sit on the porch on the old wooden
        swing
Drink a cup of coffee, glass of wine or just
        anything
We can talk and laugh about the days gone
        by
Happy times and long lost loves who made
       us cry

A lazy afternoon with nothing special to do
Enjoying the sunshine and the clear sky of
        blue
Let our minds just wander to happy things
As we sit on the porch on the old wooden
      swing

It’s always enjoyable spending time with a
      friend
Like a circle....our friendship has no end
Sharing sad times, hopes and our utmost
         dreams
As we sit on the porch on the old wooden
        swing
