This is going to be a short today. I had a lot of reading yesterday for you so decided short today.
My reflection refers to the stimulus check which as of yet did not receive. Sure if I were late paying Uncle Sam my pound of flesh every April he’d not be happy. Perhaps it’s because I’m not getting one?
My poem today reflects a piece of sea glass and walk on the beach. It’s up to the reader to decide the outcome of the poem. Is he leaving her and she gazes on the object when she misses him? Or is it another reason? I write pieces at times to let the reader make their own decision about the meaning behind the work.
Enjoy.
Until next time....it’s Wednesday half this week gone.
What will today bring?....Will I get my
stimulus today?
Seems like everyone has gotten theirs but
me....or so seems as if they have
Did Uncle Sam forget me?....He doesn’t let
me forget him every April
BEACH WALK
© Scottie-ann Murphy
Along a sandy beach in the early morn
we stroll....your hand in mine
Just you....just me....oblivious to others
around us....who like us enjoy the beach before the sun scorches the sand
We stop along the waters edge
staring out into the blue ocean waters
watching as the white caps roll to shore
Only sounds we hear....the seagulls
I spot a beautiful piece of sea glass
a dark shade of cerulean like your eyes
Bending down to pick up the object I know it will always be close to me to fondly
gaze upon....whenever I miss you
