MARVELOUS MAY....Day 14

 

I love to play trivia. One game my husband and I use to play in bars was NTN Trivia.  You would get a game box from the establishment to play the game shown on the television.    Now a days it’s called TAP TV and you play from your tablet or phone; you need to down load the app. 

I guess I based my first piece on the fact a guy breaks up with a female due to her being smarter than he.  It was fun to write indeed as there were times I’ve beaten my husband on trivia games. Also awhile back after his first mini stroke he was asked my name and he told the doctor it was Smarty.  He was trying to say Scottie but the doctor heard Smarty.  It just sounded that way. 

Yesterday the UK word was CHIPS. 

Of course chips in the UK is fries to us. 

Chips in the UK are called crisps I think. I wrote about having fish and chips and one place no longer around in my area. That place had the best.  Now it’s either Captain D’s or if you find one in your town Long John Silvers; I miss Arthur Treachers. 

The wacky holidays yesterday were food days. I’m not a fan of hummus.  Tasted it but did not like it. 

It’s Friday the day we always wear our RED.  It’s also the day in 1942 the WACS were approved by Congress.

                       SMARTY

Tears fell from my eyes

As I looked at the date

The day he said goodbye 

No reason given

Just it was him....not me he said 

I knew better....it wasn’t him

   But me

Too intelligent for the guy....always beat 

      him at trivia

Smarter now....I don’t play trivia on a 

     date

Fish and chips with malt vinegar 

 what I’m having for lunch 

Hush puppies and coleslaw

Just can’t wait to munch

Beer bartered fish with seasoned fries

So tasty and yummy my oh my

Unfortunately Arthur Treacher’s no longer in business in my town

So Captain D’s here I come

Croutons in my chefs salad at lunch

Apple pie a la mode for dessert

It’s an eating wacky holiday indeed

I’ll pass on hummus thank you
