Today is Mother’s Day Eve! I always call the day before a holiday the Eve lately.
I’m thinking about Mother’s Day past and the first year in Florida. A local bar (it had Sunday karaoke) would give their customers a free meal on Sunday afternoon as a customer appreciation. Of course it was first come till food gone. If you did not get there in time you might miss out. Now my husband and I did not go for the food but to do karaoke. One year on Mother’s Day we had the biggest laugh. That Sunday the owner had a meatloaf dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy, a vegetable and dinner roll. Well this couple in their fifties comes into the place. We’ve seen this guy a few times and he had brought his wife who never been with him on prior visits. They of course had the free meal. What was funny she had no idea the meal was free. She drank a diet soda that cost a dollar. She asked why we weren’t eating; I explained ours was in a to go box. The wife went on and on how it was wonderful her husband was taking her out to dinner for Mother’s Day. Well of course I thought it was nice of him to bring her for a free meal. All he did was buy her a couple diet sodas. I could not bring myself to tell her it was the free Sunday meal. In fact the following week he brought her back again for the free pasta dinner. She told us it was odd her husband brought her out again for dinner on Sunday. Hey big spender I thought about him.
We did not frequent the place during our next year in Florida as the owner had sold the business. I must say the wife was a great cook. Sure many did miss the free meal.
Somehow that incident comes to mind each year.
I know restaurants will be packed on Sunday. So maybe do Mother’s Day today.
Yesterday the daily word was TIN. I needed to figure what a tin really was. I thought a can but with UK words you never know. I then used most of the months words so far in my first piece. I thought it funny to combine them into one piece. I used all but pram. In fact I used a few other words I researched in the piece. I’m enjoying the UK words so far. Next week I’ll try to do this again at the end of the week. Perhaps use as many as I can for the months end.
I did a daily observation today which was in fact true. After I had done a quick errand there was an accident so I tried to go a different way. Unfortunately the road I wanted to turn down closed due to construction I kept going another way I once gone before. Finally came to where I need be.
It’s Saturday have a great day.
Until tomorrow....enjoy the first day of the weekend and Stay Safe.

PLAN FOR THE DAY
Decided not to drive the lorry
to the shop
Instead will put on my wellies
leave my flat
and walk there in the rain
Afterwards open a tin of soup
While it heats on the hob
make a cheese toastie
Such a shame the rounders game
called due to the showers
Perhaps they’ll play tomorrow
DAILY OBSERVATION
The traffic crazy today
an accident caused me to detour
Went miles before figuring where
I was
No sense of direction I have
But I made it home
Sound and safe
😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
COMFORT FOOD
Having a tin of tomato soup for lunch
and a delicious cheese toastie
Such a good comfortable meal when
feeling down
I need many different comfort foods
these days
