It’s 4:00am as I type this. Yesterday I was determined not to take any grief or anguish. Yes I put on the big girl panties, wore my sassy shorts and my red BITCH hat. I stood tall and was ready to rumble. No one got to me which was fantastic.
Today a new month begins. We bid a sad farewell to National Poetry Month. I gave my thoughts in piece one. In the next piece wrote I about my sassy attire.
The daily word for yesterday WORMS.
I did the pieces on fishing. As a kid from age eight to twelve I enjoyed fishing. Loved using a bobber that let me know I had a bite. I did not fish again until my twenties and stopped by age thirty. Living in Florida I have access to lakes but did not get back to it.
The wacky holiday piece is more like a thought to me.
Yesterday I had to check out the sampling of mint juleps the Amvets will be having available for today. It’s been a while since I had one. To me it was a tad sweet but they kept trying to get them just right; finally came up with the final product. I’ve always considered a mint julep as a sipping drink not a chugging one. Of course there are those who drink fast no matter what they have. With it being Kentucky Derby Day they’ll be selling them today.
Today, tomorrow and Monday will be busy for me. Late morning today I have to be at the installation of officers at the Amvets; need to get gas in my car and visit my husband at 1:30. After I need to be back to the Amvets for the Kentucky Derby event. Sunday I have an Executive Board meeting at the Amvets where I’ll be taking minutes; then need to take minutes at the employee meeting. Monday I see my husband at 10:30 then at 3:00 have a 40&8 promenade (meeting) plus installation of new officers. Whew I’ll be busy. Yes I’ve taken on the adjutant job at my Amvets and Chef de Train of my 40&8 Locale.
Right now I need to try to fall back to sleep till seven.
It’s Saturday.
Until next time....enjoy the first day of the weekend and as always Stay Safe.

FAREWELL AGAIN
National Poetry Month ends
Bidding a sad farewell to thirty days of
odes, ballads, rhymes
limericks, sonnets, free style and
haikus
have come to a conclusion
How quick the month sped
Still many poems yet to read....
be heard....
and written
Seems thirty days not enough time
to celebrate
Poetry month
like the 2021 tax due
date should be extended

THE ATTIRE
Put on my big girl panties
wearing my sassy pants
and my BITCH hat this morning
Watch out world.....here I come
I’m ready to face whatever comes my
way
Not taking any grief....torment....
anguish from anyone
Will stand tall....determined....
ready to rumble if need be
No doubt few will get in my way today
Definitely need to wear this attire more
often

FISHING
I can bait my hook with the worm
Even though it’s slimy and wiggles
As one who fishes....I need to do this
myself
Fishing with a bamboo pole
with red and white plastic bobber
a fun summer activity as a child
Caught many small sunnies....
never a trophy
WORMS
Worms wriggle and squirm on the hook
On a lazy summer day they taunt the
fish
Relaxing by the lake....I cast out my line
Movement from the bobber lets me
know I caught one
Summertime fishing a relaxing way to
unwind

WACKY HOLIDAYS APRIL 30th
(National Raisin Day; National Oatmeal
Cookie Day; National Honesty Day;
Dandelion Day and Arbor Day)
I’ll plant a sapling today
but first I need to weed the
dandelions
Honestly I’d rather be inside baking
oatmeal cookies with raisins
