Happy Cinco de Mayo if you celebrate. I’m not one for margaritas. Another day to me where it’s an excuse to drink and eat. Like St. Patrick’s Day, most want to celebrate.
This is a short piece today. I wrote a daily thought about becoming a hermitress. The piece about the M days of celebration interesting as I thought about it. Never really thought of it in prior years.
WELLIES was the UK word challenge. I decided to look up what raincoat and umbrella are known as. That’s when I decided to do the piece using the UK terms for rain gear.
It’s Wednesday and a busy day for me.
I have to drop off my car at the mechanics at 10am; leave it for few days; I am renting car while mine is being checked over. After I need to pick up my mail at post office; then probably stop at bank. There is a going surprise away party for one of our bartenders at the Amvets later in the afternoon. I wasn’t planning on attending. I was requested by another bartender to write something about her leaving so I ended up doing a card verse and an acrostic using her name. When I mentioned that I would not be there due to my busy schedule I saw a big smile on one person’s face. The bartender who asked me to write the poem seemed upset as she expected me to read it for her. Well I’ve decided maybe I’ll try to go now. It will make the bartender who wanted me to read happy; and secondly it will make the person who was happy I wasn’t attending miserable. I’ll keep you posted on my drama.
