JUST THOUGHTS and SUCH....June 17th

It’s getting intense with the words my husband comes up with at times.  Yet it’s been fun. Unfortunately I only had a fifteen minute timed writing as opposed to the usual twenty.  The words to use were:
 GARAGE   COFFEE MUGS   MASON JARS
Not easy to say the least.  How do you bring them together?  Of course yard sale items.  I’ve always wanted to do a vignette about a person at a yard sale so the words could be used in that manner.  I’ve never been to yard sales before ten in the morning.  Decided to use the fact the whole neighborhood was involved. Of course I decided that everyone would be going in order from the first house going up one side of the street then across the street and down the other way. Naturally our main character would not follow suit; she’ll do her own thing. I left the ending as is for a reason, this is just a glimpse into a brief moment in someone’s life.  Secondly I want the reader to think of what the character planned to do with the Mason jars.  There are quite a few possibilities I came up with after tweaking the piece.  I will not change the vignette but correct a word here and there.  I leave it as it originally thought out when composed.  I was up before seven this morning.  Quiet morning outside except my husband rolling out the trash bin. I laughed as it’s National Garbage Men Day which had me curious if there are women in that line of work too.  Actually they should be called waste collectors or trash collectors.  Yes I did Google to see if there were women in that field.  Yes is the answer.
Until tomorrow....enjoy your Wednesday.  Let your mind think about what Lynn in vignette planned to do with the Mason jars; and coffee mugs.

 June 17th....DAILY REFLECTIONS

  It’s a beautiful sunny day so far....only a
        10% rain chance....quiet at 7:00am in
              the neighborhood

Only sound outside is hubby rolling out
the trash bin to curb....today is National
Garbage Man Day....I wonder if there
               are garbage women

An interesting thought to ponder for sure....
Google here I come for an answer....
       Happy Hump Day

Lynn clicked on the right turn signal, slowly making her way to park at the curb.  Eight in the morning and already a crowd gathered in the neighborhood of the block long yard sale.  She looked before opening the door of the car and got out.  Popping the trunk, she reached inside to grab the three large tote bags to carry her purchases.  She was fortunate to get a parking spot three houses from the corner.  Lynn walked to the first house to see if they had anything of interest. Lynn, a crafter, always found items to repurpose into something new.  She found a few bud vases and spools of ribbon which could be used for a project.  The crowds seem to be doing each house in order.  Many wore face masks and tried to practice distancing but it was hard with everyone looking for a bargain.  Lynn decided not to follow suit and headed across the street to where she noticed items not only placed out in the yard but noticed the garage door opened. Perhaps she’d find something of interest there. She could not understand why everyone was going the same route but she decided to start on the opposite side of the street and do the houses in reverse.  Outside on the table were the usual items such as coffee mugs, glasses in various sizes and picture frames.  Lynn picked up a few of the mugs.  Their condition was good and she knew what she already had planned for the cups.  The four wine glasses were still in original packaging; seemed they never were used.  She placed her latest purchases into one of the tote bags and slipped it back over her shoulder.  Making her way to get a better peek inside the garage was futile.  The owner stood there clicking the door opener; the door slowly closed on only what could have been the mother load of purchases.
Sorry nothing for sale in there”, the owner of the residence said.
“Such a shame,” Lynn thought to herself,
I could have used those Mason jars for more than canning.”
