JUST THOUGHTS and SUCH....June 9th

Yesterday the words to use in the twenty minute writing prompt was CAT and WINE.
I thought about a poem I did a while back and incorporated into the vignette posted below.  This is sort of based on a true story well of course it’s embellished a bit.  I did drink wine with the neighbor’s cat on that wacky holiday.
Yesterday I went to the store.  Wore my mask. I was headed down an aisle when I noticed four women standing around talking as if it was a coffee clutch.  They at least had on masks but still they were talking up room where others needed to be and they were not six feet apart.  I asked them to move let’s say it was not a happy time. Then I also had an incident at the check out where I stood my six feet apart but someone cut in front of me.  Telling this person did help matters as they went all rage on me that they don’t care about being six feet apart and proceeded to continue placing their items on the counter for check out.  As I was feeling nauseous I did not feel like getting into a conflict; if I felt better it would been different.  I learned two things do not shop when you did not eat breakfast as walking through the store made me nauseous. Secondly, don’t take anyone’s crap.
Until next time....enjoy your day.

had reunion with people you had not
seen in awhile....yet there it was

I think I’ll just send hubby to stores for

Everything she needed was within reach.  Her IPAD, IPHONE and Kindle sat on the table to her right along with the wine glass on the POW/MIA coaster.  A red cooler containing a bottle of wine and ice had been placed in front of the table.  Andi did not need anything else at the moment as she lounged on the swing under the canopy of the patio.
It was a warm spring afternoon a bit humid for April but then weather in Florida always unpredictable at times.  Andi poured a glass of Lambrusco, taking a sip of the semi-sweet wine, she gave a sigh.  It was one of those days that nothing seemed to go right.  First thing that morning she spilled coffee on her beige shorts; then when changing into a new pair the button came off.  Unable to locate where the sewing box had been placed, she put on the third pair of shorts for the day.  The drive-thru bank line wait of twenty minutes did not help her patience; nor did the wait time on the phone with the insurance company.  Everyone must have been banking and calling the insurance company on the same day, same time.  Andi sipped the wine again; it felt so refreshing.  She enjoyed days sitting out on the patio, sipping a cold drink and either reading or working on her latest writing project.  Today she was lost in thought about which she should do.  Another murder in her book took place and Andi was looking forward to the next phase of action. She wondered who the culprit could be; if the amateur sleuth would solve the case before the LEOs.  Andi then thought about her WACKY/WEIRD HOLIDAY and HOLIDAY COUNTDOWN list she posted each morning on her Facebook page. She wanted to ready the next day’s list before tackling her reading. She chuckled as she recalled the wacky/weird holidays for the day.  Unfortunately she was upset she could not participate in one of the daily celebrations.  A soft meowing interrupted her musings.  Tom, her neighbor’s cat, stealthily moved into the yard.  He meowed again before jumping up on the swing.  The cat turned in a circle three times before settling down next to Andi. She reached over petting the cat who closed its’ eyes.  Picking up the wine glass again Andi took a gulp of wine.  “Here’s looking at you cat.  Thanks for stopping by”, she said.  Andi then chuckled as she replaced the glass back on the coaster. She continued snickering as her mind went to one of the wacky/weird holidays for the day; DRINK WINE WITH YOUR CAT DAY.  She might not own her own cat, but borrowing one worked just as well.
