Well it happen again. The clubs and bars in Florida are closed. Not sure how long this time though. My husband gave me fifteen minutes to write something using the words:
Wino Patio Pandemic
Ok so what will work? I thought about us not being able to go out to the clubs (veterans clubs) again and how we’d missing seeing everyone. We know we’d miss the friendly bartenders who are always there with a cheerful hello and smile no matter how bad their day may be. But that did not trigger any thoughts as I typed the line about them. Then I realized the bars and clubs being closed we’d be drinking adult beverages at home again. By now the employees at the local ABC Liquor store know my name (almost like being a regular on the old tv show ‘CHEERS’). I decided our living rooms, patios (for those with one) and kitchen are the house bars again now. It then hit me the old county western song ‘I’m Going to Hire a Wino to Decorate Our Home’.
I decided to use that idea about a wino decorator to the house; the poem narrator only hopes her spouse is a good tipper. My daily reflections hits so true with my morning.
I got up later than usual today only to hear the depressing news. I had my husband switch the channel to something else.
Until tomorrow....it is after noon and I need to post this then get cracking on my house bartender duties. Thank goodness I got my husband his salt and vinegar chips yesterday as well as case of beer.

It’s Saturday....watching the
news....why am I?....it’s depressing
Closings of bars and clubs....arrest of a
teacher doing lewd acts to a
student....another missing child....
I can’t watch no more
Click to another channel....Boomerang to
watch cartoons....at least I’ll chuckle

(Another Corona Stay-at Home Day)
As of June 26th the bars and clubs are
closed again
That means we will all need to stay at home
Again our residence has become our
watering hole
Sitting in the living room, kitchen or patio
with cocktails, beer, shots and wine
Missing the company of others we enjoy
seeing from time to time
The friendly efficient bartenders who greet
you with a smile and a cheerful hello
But we all must do our part due to this
pandemic
Perhaps the old country western song from
years ago will become true
Have a wino as the decorator for the house
Sure it’ll go over big with my spouse
I just hope he gives good tips after my
serving of drinks and snacks
After all I have his favorites on hand
