JUST THOUGHTS and SUCH....June 21st

Day two of the summer season. In my younger days I always used Memorial Day as my first day of the start of summer.  July fourth would be my mid-way through the season with Labor Day being the seasons end. How funny that is now that I think of it.  The fall season would always be short as I began winter day after Thanksgiving continuing through until Easter.  Winter always seemed to drag on and on for me.
It is funny when you think about it though; as they always said wear white between Memorial Day and not after Labor Day.  Christmas comes in winter and the season of Christmas seems to start on Black Friday.  As for Easter, pastel colors are worn for some reason; colors of the spring. I still went with this premise I had for years.  Now I go by the calendar.
I reflected about Fathers Day today.  It means really nothing for me as I never knew who my father was.  Enough said. I’m bitter about this and don’t want to keep with the harping on the subject.
I wrote the quick piece after I did my reflections this morning.  The sun was just coming up and I heard birds outside in the trees.  I thought if I did venture out I need all the essentials to take along.  Now it seems I’ve added mask. Although I do keep mask in the car these days.
Until next time....do you consider your mask essential? Today is National Selfie Day so don’t forget to take one or two to celebrate. Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads and Moms to have to do dual roles.

        June 21....DAILY REFLECTIONS

     So it’s Father’s Day....well a happy one to
all the fathers....I have no father to wish
              a happy day

Only had a step-father who tried to raise
me as if I were his own....never knew
        who my  my biological father....never
             told a anything about him

Am I bitter about this....YES....guess one
thing I’ll always be curious about

Morning has arrived
  Another day begins
     Sunrise lights up the sky
I listen to the chirping birds
            Outside in the trees
Wish like them I could fly away
to another place for just awhile
But here I am stuck inside
    At least for the moment
I’ll try to venture out later
And remember to take the five
               essentials
Keys, wallet, glasses, phone and mask
