JUST THOUGHTS and SUCH...June 20th

Well my husband decided he wanted me to do rhymes using the words:

   ELECTRIC BILL and TOMATO SOUP

Unfortunately he did not say to use them in the same piece.  I had fifteen minutes and go!

I decided since it’s the first day of summer to write about my air conditioner being on since around St. Patrick’s Day.  It turned too warm suddenly and hubby wanted it put on. I liked having the windows open.  Of course it only goes on when needed not all the time.  That piece had me using the words electric bill.  

It became a whimsical piece. As he stated that’s what he wanted.  The use of Bloody Mary, came from an idea of something I saw on the internet about Bloody Marys.  I took it and changed it around a bit into another whimsical piece.  I used the original information I saw on the internet in an ad for Bloody Marys for my Amvets Post.  After I completed reading these to my husband he had a big chuckle out of the Bloody Mary piece as he knows I usually have two on the day they are the drink special.  I must say this, I enjoy mine with a tad of horseradish and a pickle; sometimes a Gerkin and sometimes a dill spear.  It depends on my mood and what’s available at the club. 

Today is the first day of summer; seems I did not enjoy spring being quarantined throughout the season.  Hope I can enjoy this season but personally looking forward to fall.  Love pumpkin spice and apple cider.

  June 20....DAILY REFLECTIONS 

First day of summer....I missed the whole 

    season of spring....being quarantined I 

        did not enjoy it as usual

Hope this season I can enjoy....of course it 

   rains most every day....but that’s how it is 

             here

 

Today is the longest day of the year....I plan 

      to enjoy every bit of daylight....watch out 

            world

First day of summer arrives today

Do I care? I do say NAY

It’s always summer here, so it seems

Except when in Florida it’s seventy degrees

My A/C turned on since before the first of 

      May

I think it went to on around St. Patrick’s day

My electric bill is so outrageous, I can verify

At least I’m cool and comfy and that is not a 

           lie

I’m having tomato soup today

Served cold and over ice

Add celery for a vegetable 

And a three olives to make it concise 

A shot of vodka will be added

Some hot sauce to make it hairy

Then drink it from a tall chilled glass
