JUST THOUGHTS and SUCH....June 7th

It’s been overcast the last few days. The sun will perk out from the clouds for a few brief moments then hide again. This morning I began wondering what I’ll see outside once I’m up and about.  I thought about if I want to do a poem to post tomorrow or a short flash fiction or vignette.  I like vignettes as they capture a glimpse into a person life for a brief moment.  Usually my flash fiction or vignettes are timed pieces generally fifteen to twenty minutes. The subject will come from a word, idea or series of words.  My husband said later he’s giving me the word of the day to use in my writing piece.  Can’t wait to find out what it is.  My poem is from the idea I’m beginning a new book today.  I read mystery on a basis but times I’ll read a women’s fiction, memoir or what I call classics.  My favorite author is Jane Austen.  At one time I used Sunday afternoons to read one of her works.  I have not done that for awhile.  Maybe I’ll crack open an Austen later and immerse myself in her world.
Today is NATIONAL CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM DAY and NATIONAL FROZEN YOGURT DAY, both sound good
Until tomorrow....have a blessed Sunday.

   June 7....DAILY REFLECTIONS

Will I see the sun today....yesterday it
           was overcast and rainy

At least the rain did not trigger any rainy
         day poems....been happening a lot
             lately

Now I wonder what I want to write
   today....poem or flash fiction....decisions

Another book I begin today
of course it’ll be a mystery
Perhaps I should read instead
     one with some fictional history

I read the same type genre
    again and over again
A body is found....it’s murder
amateur sleuth solves it in the end

Maybe I’ll read a classic
    by Bronte, Dickens or Twain
Perhaps I’ll pick up Emma, by the author
  whose first name is Jane

I enjoy reading on a rainy day
     and relaxing with some wine
It takes my mind off the current turmoil
and for a short while I can just unwind
